Clean and dry the skin fully before applying, then select a patch that comfortably covers the area with a small margin of surrounding skin. Peel the patch from its backing without touching the hydrocolloid surface, position it directly over the area, and press down gently from the centre outward without stretching the patch.

Leave the patch in place for the wear-time period indicated on the packaging, and replace it once it turns visibly opaque or whitish, or sooner if it lifts at the edges. To remove, lift one edge gently and peel back slowly, supporting the surrounding skin.

Use each patch before the expiry date printed on the packaging. An unopened, properly stored pack should remain usable up to that date, but patches from an opened sheet should be kept sealed and used within a reasonable time to avoid the hydrocolloid layer being affected by ambient moisture.

Store the pack in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight and humidity, and reseal the packaging after opening. Keep out of the reach of children.

Use in children should be supervised by an adult, and the patch should be checked periodically for lifting or excessive soiling. Discontinue use if irritation develops at the application site.

When to See a Doctor or Pharmacist: Speak to a doctor or pharmacist if the covered area becomes increasingly red, swollen, or painful, if pus or discharge develops, or if fever occurs, as these may need separate assessment. Also seek advice if a persistent skin reaction to the adhesive continues after the patch is removed.
