Overview

A-Cerumen Spray is supplied as a spray, with materials and components. It is supplied in a pack size of 40ml.

No prescription is required for this product, as it is an over-the-counter (OTC) medicine. This page is limited to product, safety and handling information.

If you would like guidance before buying, you can speak to a doctor or pharmacist through an online consultation on DoctorOnCall. Orders are dispensed by a registered pharmacist and delivered to your address.

Directions for Use

Shake the bottle gently before use. Tilt the head to one side so the affected ear faces upward, position the spray nozzle at the ear opening, and press the pump the number of times stated on the label. Keep the head tilted for about one minute so the solution stays in contact with the wax, then tilt the head to the opposite side to allow the solution to drain out onto a tissue. Wipe the outer ear and the nozzle with a clean tissue, then replace the cap on the bottle after use.

Dosage

The number of pump sprays per application and the frequency of use should follow the instructions printed on the product label — typically a small number of sprays into the affected ear canal, once or twice daily for several consecutive days, or as directed by a pharmacist.

Shelf Life

Refer to the expiry date printed on the bottle and outer carton. Do not use beyond the stated expiry date; check the pack insert for any additional in-use period stated once the bottle has been opened.

Storage Instructions

Store upright at room temperature, below 25°C, away from direct sunlight, with the cap fully closed between uses. Keep out of the reach and sight of children.

Side Effects

  • Common: mild stinging or a tingling sensation in the ear canal after spraying.
  • Common: a temporary sensation of ear fullness or muffled hearing.
  • Serious: allergic contact reaction (redness, itching, or swelling) to a component of the formulation — discontinue use and seek medical advice.
  • Serious: ear pain, discharge, or bleeding during or after use, which should be assessed by a doctor.

Contraindications

  • Known or suspected perforated eardrum (tympanic membrane perforation).
  • Known allergy or hypersensitivity to any ingredient in the formulation.
  • Active ear infection, ear pain, or ear discharge that has not been assessed by a doctor.
  • Ear with grommets or ventilation tubes in place, unless a doctor has advised otherwise.

Drug / Food Interactions

  • No clinically significant drug or food interactions are known for this topical ear product, as it is applied locally in the ear canal and is not intended to be swallowed or absorbed systemically.
  • Avoid combining with another ear preparation in the same ear within the same session unless a pharmacist or doctor has advised it.
  • No food-related interaction has been identified for this product.

Quick Tips

  • Shake the bottle before each use to keep the formulation evenly mixed.
  • Hold the nozzle at the ear opening rather than inserting it deeply into the ear canal.
  • Keep the head tilted for the full time stated in the directions before letting the solution drain out.
  • Wipe the nozzle clean with a tissue after each use, before recapping the bottle.
  • Avoid sharing one spray bottle between different people, to reduce the chance of cross-contamination.
  • Store the bottle upright with the cap fully closed between uses.

Why is there no information here about what A-Cerumen Spray is for?

This page is limited to product, safety and handling information in line with Malaysian rules on medicine information. If you want advice on whether this product suits you, book an online consultation with a doctor or pharmacist on DoctorOnCall.

How should I use A-Cerumen Spray?

Use it exactly as stated on the pack label, without changing the amount or how often you use it. If anything on the label is unclear, check with a pharmacist before the first use, and read the Directions for Use section on this page.

Can I speak to a doctor or pharmacist about A-Cerumen Spray before I buy it?

How long will delivery take?

Within Malaysia, standard delivery takes 3 to 5 working days. Same-day delivery is available in the Klang Valley for orders placed before 12pm; orders placed after 12pm arrive by the end of the next day.

Orders to Singapore are sent as international deliveries and take 5 to 9 working days. A lump-sum shipping and handling fee applies to every overseas delivery and is shown at checkout.

What payment methods can I use?

Customers in Malaysia can pay by FPX online banking, credit or debit card (Visa and Mastercard), and supported e-wallets including Touch ‘n Go eWallet, GrabPay and ShopeePay.

FPX and local e-wallets are tied to Malaysian bank and wallet accounts, so if your delivery address is in Singapore, use the payment options displayed at checkout for that address rather than assuming the same list applies.

Can A-Cerumen Spray be delivered to Singapore?

Yes. DoctorOnCall ships to Singapore as an international order dispatched from Malaysia, arriving in 5 to 9 working days with a lump-sum shipping and handling fee.

Singapore’s Health Sciences Authority (HSA) allows personal imports of up to three months’ supply of a medicine for your own use or an immediate family member’s, as long as it contains no controlled drugs, psychotropic substances or prohibited items. Keep the product in its original labelled packaging and keep a copy of your prescription or doctor’s letter with it. Quantities above three months’ supply, and medicines containing controlled substances, require prior HSA approval.

Is A-Cerumen Spray registered with the authorities?

Products listed on DoctorOnCall are registered with Malaysia’s Ministry of Health for supply in Malaysia, and each pack carries its MAL registration number.

An order delivered to Singapore arrives as a personal import of a Malaysia-registered product; HSA product registration is not required for personal-use quantities, but it is also not the same as a product registered for sale in Singapore. If you need a locally registered Singapore product, buy it from a pharmacy in Singapore.

Who do I contact if there is a problem with my order?

DoctorOnCall’s customer care team handles order, delivery and product queries through the contact channels on the site, including WhatsApp and the online help centre.

For deliveries to Singapore, allow more time before chasing an order than you would for a local Malaysian delivery, as the parcel passes through customs clearance and tracking updates can appear later in the journey.

Relevant Information

Precautions: A-Cerumen Spray is intended for use in the outer ear canal only and should not be allowed to contact the eyes. As a multi-dose bottle, it should not be shared between different users. Use with care in infants and young children, following the age guidance on the product label, and avoid inserting the spray nozzle too deeply into the ear canal.

When to See a Doctor or Pharmacist: Speak to a doctor or pharmacist before use if there is any possibility of a perforated eardrum, if the ear is painful, discharging, or has recently been operated on. Stop using the product and seek medical advice if irritation or allergic symptoms develop, or if wax build-up or hearing changes do not improve after the recommended course of use.
