Overview

Apipro Oral Spray is a spray with Bee Propolis Extract, Glycerin and Purified Water declared as its active content. It is supplied in a pack size of 20ml.

This is an over-the-counter (OTC) product and can be purchased without a prescription. Only product, safety and handling details are published on this page.

An online consultation with a DoctorOnCall doctor or pharmacist is available for this product, and a registered pharmacist reviews each order before dispatch to Malaysia or Singapore. Follow the directions on the label and on the leaflet inside the pack.

Directions for Use

Remove the cap from the spray nozzle. Open the mouth and direct the nozzle towards the throat, then press down to release the spray. Avoid swallowing immediately after spraying to allow brief contact with the throat surface. Replace the cap tightly after each use.

Dosage

Adults and children (using the age-appropriate variant) typically use 1 to 2 sprays directly onto the throat, up to several times a day as directed on the package insert, or as advised by a doctor or pharmacist. Use should not exceed the frequency stated on the packaging without professional guidance.

Storage Instructions

Store Apipro Oral Spray below 25°C in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight and heat sources, given its alcohol content. Keep the bottle upright with the cap tightly closed when not in use and keep it out of the reach of children.

Side Effects

  • Common: mild, transient stinging or warm sensation in the throat immediately after spraying, related to the alcohol content.
  • Common: a brief change in taste after use.
  • Serious: signs of an allergic reaction to bee-derived products, such as rash, lip or facial swelling, or difficulty breathing, which require immediate medical attention.

Contraindications

  • Known allergy or hypersensitivity to propolis, other bee products (such as bee pollen or bee venom), or any other ingredient in the spray.
  • Use in young children below the age stated on the packaging for the standard adult formulation, where the dedicated kids’ variant should be used instead.

Drug / Food Interactions

  • No clinically significant drug interactions are known for Apipro Oral Spray when used as directed in the throat.
  • The alcohol content should be taken into account by individuals who have been advised to avoid alcohol for medical reasons; consult a doctor or pharmacist if uncertain.

Quick Tips

  • Aim the spray directly at the throat rather than the front of the mouth for even distribution.
  • Avoid swallowing or rinsing immediately after use to allow brief contact time.
  • Use the kids’ variant for children rather than the standard adult spray.
  • Keep the nozzle clean between uses to prevent blockage.
  • Check the expiry date on the bottle before each use.
  • Store away from heat sources, given the alcohol base of the formulation.

Relevant Information

Precautions: Apipro Oral Spray is intended for use in the throat and oral cavity only and contains alcohol, which should be considered by anyone advised to avoid alcohol for medical or personal reasons. It should not be given to young children using the standard adult formulation; a dedicated kids’ variant is available for that age group. Anyone with a known allergy to bee products should avoid this spray. Discontinue use if irritation, swelling, or a rash develops.

When to See a Doctor or Pharmacist: Speak with a doctor or pharmacist if throat symptoms persist beyond the period stated on the packaging, if there is difficulty swallowing or breathing, high fever, or if signs of an allergic reaction appear after use.
