Overview

Benz-C Double Action Fruity Lozenge is a fruit-flavoured lozenge that combines Vitamin C (ascorbic acid) with diphenhydramine hydrochloride, an antihistamine. The lozenge is taken by slowly dissolving it in the mouth. The sweet, fruity flavour is formulated to be pleasant when dissolved slowly.

Diphenhydramine is a first-generation antihistamine that can cause drowsiness, while ascorbic acid is a water-soluble vitamin. The lozenge base contains sugar, glucose syrup and flavouring agents that give it its sweet fruity taste and allow it to dissolve gradually. People with diabetes or those managing their sugar intake should note the sugar content.

Benz-C Double Action Fruity Lozenge is sold over the counter and is available through DoctorOnCall for delivery in Malaysia and Singapore, in a pack of 12 lozenges. Because it contains an antihistamine that can cause drowsiness, customers should read the leaflet carefully and avoid driving or operating machinery after taking it. Please speak to a pharmacist before use if you take other medicines or have any medical conditions.

Directions for Use

For oral use only. Follow the directions on the pack or the advice of a doctor or pharmacist.

  1. Place one lozenge in the mouth and allow it to dissolve slowly.
  2. Do not chew or swallow the lozenge whole.
  3. Do not give to young children who may choke on the lozenge.
  4. Wait the period stated on the leaflet before taking another lozenge.

Avoid alcohol while using this product, and avoid driving or operating machinery if you feel drowsy.

Dosage

Adults and children over the age stated on the leaflet: Dissolve one lozenge slowly in the mouth at the interval stated on the pack, without exceeding the maximum number of lozenges per day.

Young children: Not recommended unless advised by a doctor.

Missed dose: Skip it and use the next lozenge when needed. Do not take extra.

Do not exceed the maximum daily dose stated on the pack. See a doctor if symptoms last more than a few days, or if you develop a fever.
