Overview

Collomack Warts Corns Topical Solution is a 10% salicylic acid solution in a film-forming collodion-type base, supplied in a 10ml bottle with a brush attached to the cap. Salicylic acid belongs to the keratolytic class, meaning it loosens and softens the outer layers of thickened skin so that they can shed. The solvent system of the formula includes ethanol, acetone, and isobutyl acetate, together with pyroxylin, which dries on the skin to form a thin film that keeps the active ingredient in contact with the area of application.

The formula also contains acetic acid, docusate sodium, and castor oil, which help the solution spread evenly and keep the dried film flexible. The product is manufactured by RX Pharma and is sold over the counter as an external topical solution that is applied only to the area to be treated, taking care not to allow it to touch healthy skin. Because the solution is applied with a brush from the bottle cap, it can be placed precisely without the need for a separate applicator.

Because the solvents in this product are highly flammable, it must be kept away from heat, sparks, and naked flames, and the bottle should be closed tightly after every use. The solution is intended for external use only and must never be swallowed. Please read the leaflet supplied with the pack before first use.

Directions for Use

Wash and dry the area of application first. Using the brush attached to the bottle cap, apply the solution carefully only to the area to be treated, taking care not to allow it to touch the surrounding healthy skin. Allow the solution to dry, and close the bottle tightly straight away. Before each new application, remove the remaining dried film from the previous application.

Follow the duration of use stated in the leaflet, and do not apply to the face, moles, birthmarks, or areas with hair growing from them, or to the genital or anal region. Wash your hands after each application.

Dosage

Unless otherwise directed by a doctor, apply twice a day to the area to be treated using the brush attached to the cap, as stated in the manufacturer’s directions. Do not apply more often than directed, and do not apply to large areas of skin.

Shelf Life

Check the packaging for the expiry date before use.

Storage Instructions

Store in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight, heat, sparks, and naked flames. Keep the bottle tightly closed at all times when not in use, as the solvents evaporate quickly and are highly flammable.
