Overview

Dr.P Basic Adult Diaper is a disposable adult diaper from the Dr.P adult care range, offering everyday protection for adults living with bladder or bowel leakage. As part of the brand’s basic line, it is intended as a practical, value-focused option for regular use at home or in care settings. It is commonly used by caregivers looking after elderly, bedridden or less mobile family members who need reliable day-to-day continence care.

The diaper is designed with an absorbent core to hold moisture and fastening tapes that allow the fit to be adjusted around the wearer’s waist. A tape-on style is generally easier to fit while the wearer is lying down, which makes changes more manageable for caregivers. Choosing the correct size according to the size chart on the pack helps the diaper sit properly and reduces the chance of leaks.

In Malaysia’s hot and humid climate, frequent changes and careful skin hygiene are important to keep the wearer comfortable, especially for those who spend long periods in bed or seated. Dr.P Basic Adult Diaper can be used together with gentle adult wipes, a barrier cream and a waterproof bed pad as part of a complete care routine. Keeping a steady supply at home helps caregivers stay prepared for daily needs.

Directions for Use

  • Wash and dry your hands, and make sure the wearer’s skin is clean and completely dry.
  • Unfold the diaper and gently stretch it lengthwise to release the leg elastics, without touching the inner absorbent surface.
  • Turn the wearer onto their side, place the back half of the diaper (the part with the tapes) under the buttocks, then roll the wearer onto their back.
  • Bring the front panel up between the legs, then fasten the lower tapes angled slightly upwards and the upper tapes angled slightly downwards for a secure, comfortable fit.
  • Check that the leg cuffs sit outwards and that the diaper is not too tight. To remove, unfasten the tapes, roll the diaper up with the soiled side inwards, secure it with the tapes and dispose of in a rubbish bin. Do not flush.

Dosage

Change as needed, typically every 3–4 hours or whenever the diaper is wet or soiled, and always change promptly after a bowel movement. Overnight, a fresh diaper before bed and checking at least once during the night if possible helps keep the skin dry and comfortable.

Shelf Life

Refer to the expiry or manufacturing date printed on the pack where provided. Keep unused diapers sealed in their original packaging until use, and do not use any diaper that is damaged, damp or has been exposed to dirt or pests.

Storage Instructions

  • Store in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight and heat.
  • Keep away from moisture, such as in bathrooms, to protect the absorbent core and adhesive parts.
  • Keep the pack closed after opening to keep the diapers clean.
  • Keep plastic packaging out of reach of children to avoid the risk of suffocation.

Side Effects

  • Adult diapers are generally well tolerated, but prolonged contact with moisture, friction or an incorrect fit may cause skin discomfort in some wearers.
  • Redness, rash or irritation in the covered area
  • Chafing or red marks around the waist or legs if the fit is too tight
  • Itching or sensitivity to the materials in rare cases
  • If redness, broken skin or irritation persists or worsens despite regular changing, stop using the product and consult a doctor or pharmacist.

Contraindications

  • Do not use if the wearer has a known sensitivity or allergy to any of the diaper materials.
  • Seek advice from a doctor or nurse before use on broken, wounded or severely irritated skin.
  • Not intended for infants or young children; use a baby diaper designed for their size.
  • Do not use a size that is too small or too tight, as this can restrict circulation and cause skin marks.
  • Not a substitute for medical assessment — new, sudden or worsening incontinence should be checked by a doctor.

Drug / Food Interactions

  • No known drug or food interactions.
  • If you are using prescribed creams or ointments in the diaper area, check with your doctor or pharmacist before applying them under the diaper.
  • Apply barrier creams in a thin layer and allow them to absorb, as heavy layers of oily products may reduce absorbency or affect how the diaper sits.

Quick Tips

  • Choose the size based on the wearer’s waist and hip measurements.
  • Fasten the tapes symmetrically so the diaper sits evenly on both sides.
  • For bedridden wearers, reposition them regularly as advised by their care team and check the skin at each change.
  • Use a waterproof bed pad underneath for extra protection.
  • Avoid touching the inner surface of the diaper with lotion or cream on your fingers, as this may affect the tapes and absorbency.

Relevant Information

For external, single use only. Choose the correct size by measuring the wearer’s waist and hips and comparing them with the size chart on the pack, as a good fit is one of the most important factors in preventing leaks. Dispose of used diapers hygienically in a rubbish bin and never flush them down the toilet.

If you are a caregiver, gently clean and pat the skin dry at every change and look out for redness or sore areas, especially in bedridden or less mobile wearers. Keep the product and its packaging out of reach of children, and speak to a doctor or pharmacist if you have questions about managing incontinence.
