Overview

The Flo Sinus Nasal Care Refill Pack is a box of individual powder sachets designed to be mixed with water and used together with the corresponding Flo Sinus Care irrigation bottle for nasal and sinus washing. Each sachet contains a blend of Sodium Chloride, Potassium Chloride, Sodium Bicarbonate, Glucose Anhydrous, and Calcium Lactate Pentahydrate, which together form a buffered isotonic saline solution once dissolved in the correct amount of water.

This product is classified as a non-medicated, preservative-free saline wash rather than a drug, and is sold as an OTC item through DoctorOnCall. It is specifically a refill pack, meaning it is intended for customers who already own, or are separately purchasing, the compatible Flo Sinus Care bottle or device, rather than being a complete irrigation kit on its own.

Flo Sinus Nasal Care Refill Packs are available in different sachet counts, allowing customers to choose a pack size suited to how often they use nasal irrigation. The sachets are individually sealed for single-use convenience and hygiene.

Directions for Use

  • Tear open one sachet of Flo Sinus Nasal Care powder.
  • Empty the full contents of the sachet into the Flo Sinus Care irrigation bottle.
  • Add the amount of previously boiled-and-cooled, distilled, or sterile water specified in the instructions that came with your Flo Sinus Care bottle.
  • Close the bottle and gently shake or swirl it until the powder is fully dissolved.
  • Lean over a sink, tilt your head to one side, and gently irrigate one nostril at a time, breathing through your mouth as the solution flows through and out of the other nostril.
  • Repeat on the other side, then rinse and air-dry the bottle after use.

Dosage

Flo Sinus Nasal Care is a topical nasal wash rather than a medicine taken by mouth, so it does not have an oral dose. One sachet is generally mixed and used per irrigation session, with sessions typically carried out once or twice daily or as directed by a doctor or pharmacist. Do not reuse a sachet once it has been opened and mixed.

Shelf Life

Use each Flo Sinus Nasal Care sachet before the expiry date printed on the sachet or outer box. Once a sachet is opened and mixed with water, use the prepared solution promptly and discard any that is left over — do not store mixed solution for later use.

Storage Instructions

Store unopened sachets at room temperature, in a dry place away from direct sunlight and moisture, with the outer box closed to protect the sachets. Keep the product out of reach of young children, and store the irrigation bottle separately in a clean, dry area between uses.

Side Effects

  • Common: mild stinging, a burning sensation, or temporary nasal irritation during or shortly after irrigation.
  • Common: a sensation of fullness in the ears, which usually settles quickly after the rinse.
  • Uncommon: minor nosebleeds, particularly if the irrigation is performed too forcefully or too frequently.
  • Uncommon: sneezing or a runny nose immediately after use.

Contraindications

  • Do not mix the sachet with untreated tap water; use only previously boiled-and-cooled, distilled, or sterile water as directed.
  • Do not use if you have a completely blocked nasal passage, a recent nasal injury, or recent nasal or sinus surgery, unless a doctor has advised you that irrigation is appropriate.
  • Known hypersensitivity to any of the listed ingredients.
  • Discontinue use and seek medical advice if you experience severe pain, persistent bleeding, or worsening symptoms after use.

Drug / Food Interactions

  • No clinically significant drug or food interactions are established for this non-medicated saline nasal wash, as it acts locally in the nasal passages rather than being absorbed systemically.
  • If you use other nasal sprays or nasal medicines, ask your pharmacist about the appropriate order and spacing of use alongside nasal irrigation for the best results.

Quick Tips

  • Always use freshly boiled-and-cooled, distilled, or sterile water — never untreated tap water straight from the tap.
  • Use one sachet per irrigation session and discard any unused mixed solution.
  • Clean and air-dry the irrigation bottle thoroughly after each use.
  • Lean forward over a sink to let the solution drain out freely during irrigation.
  • Keep unopened sachets in their original box until ready to use.
  • Replace your irrigation bottle periodically in line with the manufacturer’s guidance for hygiene.

Relevant Information

Precautions: Use nasal irrigation gently and avoid forcing the solution through if you feel resistance or discomfort. Pregnant individuals, young children, and people with chronic sinus or ear conditions should check with a doctor or pharmacist before starting regular nasal irrigation. Always use only water that is safe for nasal use, as using untreated water carries a risk of introducing organisms into the nasal passages.

When to See a Doctor or Pharmacist: Speak with a doctor if nasal symptoms do not improve, if you experience repeated nosebleeds, persistent ear discomfort, or facial pain after irrigation, or if you are unsure whether nasal irrigation is suitable for an existing nasal or sinus condition.
