Minidiab 5mg Tablet

Minidiab 5mg Tablet contains Glipizide 5mg, a second-generation sulfonylurea used in the management of type 2 diabetes mellitus. It is used together with diet and exercise to help lower blood glucose levels in adults whose diabetes is not adequately controlled by lifestyle measures alone, working by stimulating the pancreas to release more insulin.

Minidiab 5mg Tablet is a prescription-only medicine in Malaysia. • Known hypersensitivity to glipizide or other sulfonylureas
• Type 1 diabetes or diabetic ketoacidosis
• Severe kidney or liver impairment
• Severe infection, major surgery, or significant physiological stress requiring insulin therapy instead
• Known sulfa allergy (caution advised, as glipizide is chemically related to sulfonamides)

• Other antidiabetic medicines, insulin, or alcohol can increase the risk of hypoglycaemia when combined with Minidiab
• Certain medicines such as beta-blockers may mask the warning signs of hypoglycaemia
• Some antibiotics and antifungal medicines can increase glipizide’s blood glucose-lowering effect
• Corticosteroids and some diuretics may raise blood glucose and reduce the medicine’s effectiveness
