Optrex Multi Action Eye Wash

Optrex Multi Action Eye Wash is an eye wash solution formulated with purified water, witch hazel (Hamamelis virginiana) extract, boric acid, sodium borate, and benzalkonium chloride. The solution is supplied together with a reusable eye bath for application.

This product is sold over the counter as an eye hygiene solution rather than a prescription medicine, and is formulated for external use on the surface of the eye. Pack sizes and the eye bath design may vary.

Rinse the eye bath with a small amount of the solution before use. Fill the eye bath about a third full, bend the head forward, and hold the eye bath against the eye. Tilt the head back so the eye is open and the solution flows across it, then gently rock the head from side to side for about 30 seconds. Discard any solution remaining in the eye bath and repeat the process for the other eye using a freshly filled eye bath.

Use one eye bath application per eye, as needed. Do not exceed the number of applications stated on the product label unless advised otherwise by a doctor or pharmacist.

Use before the expiry date printed on the packaging. Discard the product 28 days after first opening, even if some solution remains.

Store below 25°C in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight. Keep the eye bath clean and dry between uses, and do not share the eye bath with another person unless it has first been sterilised.

• Common: Mild stinging or tingling on first use.
• Common: Temporary blurring of vision or watery eyes immediately after use.
• Serious: Persistent eye redness, pain, or worsening irritation, which needs prompt medical assessment.

• Do not use if there is an existing eye infection.
• Do not use if allergic to any of the listed ingredients, including benzalkonium chloride.
• Do not use while wearing contact lenses; remove lenses before use.

• No clinically significant food interactions are known for this eye wash.
• Allow at least 15 minutes after use before reinserting contact lenses.
• Space this product apart from other eye drops or ointments used at the same time; consult a pharmacist if using it alongside other prescribed eye medication.

• Wash hands thoroughly before handling the eye bath and solution.
• Check that the bottle seal is intact before first use.
• Rinse and dry the eye bath completely after each use to keep it hygienic.
• Use a separate, freshly rinsed eye bath fill for each eye.
• Do not let the tip of the bottle or the eye bath touch the eye or surrounding skin.
• Note the date of opening on the bottle so you know when the 28-day period ends.

Precautions: For use in the eyes only. Not recommended for children under 12 without medical advice. If the eye bath is shared between users, sterilise it by boiling in water for 10 minutes before each use. Do not use the solution if the bottle seal is broken or if the liquid appears discoloured or contains particles.

When to See a Doctor or Pharmacist: Seek medical advice if eye irritation, redness, or discomfort persists or worsens after use, or if there is any change in vision, eye pain, or discharge from the eye.
