Key Information

What is Ozempic and who is it for?
- Ozempic Pen is a prescription medicine containing semaglutide, manufactured by Novo Nordisk.
- It is a GLP-1 receptor agonist used to help improve blood sugar control in adults with type 2 diabetes, alongside diet and exercise.
- In Malaysia, Ozempic requires a valid prescription following a doctor's assessment. Your doctor will determine whether it is suitable for you and prescribe the appropriate dose and treatment duration.

Which dose should I start with?
- Ozempic treatment usually starts at 0.25 mg once weekly for the first 4 weeks, as prescribed by your doctor.
- After the initial 4 weeks, the dose is usually increased to 0.5 mg once weekly. Your doctor may adjust it further depending on your blood sugar control and treatment response.
- The 1 mg dose is generally used after gradual dose escalation when additional blood sugar control is needed and the prescriber considers it appropriate.
- Do not start directly at 1 mg unless specifically instructed by your doctor. Follow your prescribed dosing schedule and do not change your dose without medical advice.

Delivery, cold-chain packaging, and what arrives in the box
- Temperature-controlled delivery helps maintain the medication within its required storage conditions during transit.
- Check your order upon arrival and review the product packaging, expiry date, and storage instructions before use.
- Discreet packaging helps protect your privacy, without displaying medication details on the outside.
- Store the pen according to the manufacturer's instructions. Unused Ozempic pens generally require refrigeration at 2°C to 8°C. Do not freeze the pen or use it if it has been frozen.
- Confirm the applicable storage requirements and delivery arrangements with the pharmacy when placing your order.

Side effects, safety basics, and when to get help
- Common side effects include nausea, vomiting, diarrhoea, constipation, and abdominal discomfort.
- Gastrointestinal side effects are often more noticeable when starting treatment or increasing the dose and may improve over time.
- Seek urgent medical attention if you experience severe, persistent abdominal pain, particularly if it spreads to your back, or signs of a serious allergic reaction.
- Contact your doctor if side effects are persistent, severe, or worsening. Tell your doctor about your medical history and other medicines before starting Ozempic, especially if you have a history of pancreatitis or are using other medicines that can lower blood sugar.
How to take your Ozempic

Choose an injection site on your abdomen, thigh, or upper arm. Use a different injection spot each week within the same body area if needed. The pen is designed for subcutaneous injection and can be used at any time of day, with or without food.

Attach a new needle and check the medication in the pen. The solution should be clear and colourless. Follow the Instructions for Use to check the pen before the first injection.

Follow the pen's dose-selection instructions to select your prescribed dose. Insert the needle into your skin as directed in the manufacturer's Instructions for Use.

Press and hold the dose button until the dose counter returns to zero. Keep the needle in your skin and count slowly to 6 before removing it. Carefully remove and dispose of the needle in an appropriate sharps container. Always follow the manufacturer's Instructions for Use.

Directions for Use
Inject Ozempic Pen subcutaneously (under the skin) once weekly, on the same day each week, at any time of day, with or without meals. Rotate injection sites between the abdomen, thigh, or upper arm to reduce skin reactions, and use a new needle for each injection. Your healthcare provider will train you on correct pen technique before you use it on your own.
Dosage
Ozempic Pen is usually started at a low once-weekly dose, which your doctor gradually increases every four weeks based on your blood sugar response and tolerability, up to a maintenance dose determined individually for you. Never adjust your own dose or injection frequency without your doctor’s specific instruction.

Malaysian rules for prescription medicines limit public product pages to product, safety and handling information. Your doctor decides whether this medicine is appropriate for you and will explain it during your consultation, and your pharmacist can answer further questions when the medicine is dispensed.
Follow your doctor’s instructions and the directions on the dispensing label without changing them. If anything on the label is unclear, check with your pharmacist before taking the first dose, and read the Directions for Use section on this page.
Take it as soon as you remember, unless your next dose is nearly due. In that case skip the missed dose and carry on with your usual schedule. Never take two doses together to make up for a missed one. If you miss doses often, tell your doctor or pharmacist.
Store in a refrigerator (2-8°C). Do not freeze. Once in use, it may be stored as per the product-specific in-use period at either refrigerated or room temperature according to the pen’s instructions – do not freeze it at any point, and keep it away from direct light and out of reach of children. Customers in Malaysia can complete an online consultation with a DoctorOnCall doctor, who decides whether a prescription is appropriate, or upload a valid prescription already issued by their own doctor.
Orders going to Singapore are dispatched from Malaysia as an international delivery, so you need to hold a valid prescription or doctor’s letter for the medicine. Check the consultation and prescription upload options shown at checkout for your delivery address before placing the order.
Within Malaysia, standard delivery takes 3 to 5 working days. Same-day delivery is available in the Klang Valley for orders placed before 12pm; orders placed after 12pm arrive by the end of the next day.
Orders to Singapore are sent as international deliveries and take 5 to 9 working days. A lump-sum shipping and handling fee applies to every overseas delivery and is shown at checkout.
Customers in Malaysia can pay by FPX online banking, credit or debit card (Visa and Mastercard), and supported e-wallets including Touch ‘n Go eWallet, GrabPay and ShopeePay.
FPX and local e-wallets are tied to Malaysian bank and wallet accounts, so if your delivery address is in Singapore, use the payment options displayed at checkout for that address rather than assuming the same list applies.

Singapore’s Health Sciences Authority (HSA) allows personal imports of up to three months’ supply of a medicine for your own use or an immediate family member’s, as long as it contains no controlled drugs, psychotropic substances or prohibited items. Keep the product in its original labelled packaging and keep a copy of your prescription or doctor’s letter with it. Quantities above three months’ supply, and medicines containing controlled substances, require prior HSA approval.
Products listed on DoctorOnCall are registered with Malaysia’s Ministry of Health for supply in Malaysia, and each pack carries its MAL registration number.
An order delivered to Singapore arrives as a personal import of a Malaysia-registered product; HSA product registration is not required for personal-use quantities, but it is also not the same as a product registered for sale in Singapore. If you need a locally registered Singapore product, buy it from a pharmacy in Singapore.
DoctorOnCall’s customer care team handles order, delivery and product queries through the contact channels on the site, including WhatsApp and the online help centre.
For deliveries to Singapore, allow more time before chasing an order than you would for a local Malaysian delivery, as the parcel passes through customs clearance and tracking updates can appear later in the journey.
