Prospan Cough Syrup

Prospan Cough Syrup is an over-the-counter herbal syrup formulated with Ivy Leaf Extract (Hedera helix) as its active ingredient, a natural expectorant, together with a syrup base of sorbitol, purified water, and flavouring agents. The formula is alcohol-free and non-drowsy, and the product is produced under the internationally recognised Prospan brand, long established in herbal ivy-leaf based liquid preparations.

Each bottle is supplied with a measuring cup or spoon to support accurate dosing at home. The Prospan range sold through DoctorOnCall Malaysia includes more than one formulation — including a separate Dried Ivy Leaf Extract variant with its own bottle size and age-banded dosing schedule — so customers should always check the exact product name and label of the bottle they have purchased rather than assuming all Prospan products are dosed the same way.

Prospan Cough Syrup is sold in Malaysia in a 200ml bottle through DoctorOnCall’s online pharmacy platform. Prospan Cough Syrup is taken orally. Shake the bottle well before each use so that the extract is evenly distributed throughout the liquid.

• Known hypersensitivity to ivy leaf (Hedera helix), other plants in the Araliaceae family, or any excipient in this formulation.
• Not intended for use in infants without a doctor’s specific instruction.
• Individuals with hereditary fructose intolerance should seek pharmacist advice before use, as this syrup contains sorbitol.

• No clinically significant drug interactions have been established for ivy leaf extract; inform your doctor or pharmacist of all other medicines, supplements, or herbal products you are taking before starting this syrup.
