Overview
Strataderm Gel 10g is supplied as a gel, with materials and components. It is supplied in a pack size of 10g.
No prescription is required for this product, as it is an over-the-counter (OTC) medicine. This page is limited to product, safety and handling information.
If you would like guidance before buying, you can speak to a doctor or pharmacist through an online consultation on DoctorOnCall. Orders are dispensed by a registered pharmacist and delivered to your address.
Directions for Use
Clean and dry the scar area thoroughly before use. Apply a very thin layer of Strataderm Gel directly over the scar and allow it to dry completely (typically within a few minutes) before covering with clothing or make-up. Apply once or twice daily depending on the scar’s location and condition, or as advised by a healthcare professional. Strataderm should only be applied to fully closed, healed skin – it is not intended for use on open wounds, stitches that have not been removed, or skin that has not fully healed.
Dosage
Not applicable – Strataderm Gel is for external, topical use only and is not taken orally or dosed like a medicine. It is generally applied once or twice daily as a thin layer directly over the scar, as described under Directions for Use, with treatment typically continued for several weeks to months depending on the scar.
Shelf Life
Use before the expiry date printed on the tube and outer carton. Once opened, Strataderm Gel is generally best used within around 6 months, in line with the period-after-opening (PAO) symbol shown on the packaging; always check the specific guidance on your pack, as exact durations can vary by batch.
Storage Instructions
Store below 25°C in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight and heat. Keep the tube tightly capped after each use to prevent the gel from drying out inside the tube, and keep out of reach of children.
Side Effects
- Nausea
- Headache
- Fatigue
- Mild gastrointestinal discomfort
- Blurred vision (in high doses)
- Diarrhea
Contraindications
- Known allergy or hypersensitivity to silicone-based products or any component of the gel.
- Not to be applied to open wounds, unhealed incisions, sutures that have not been removed, or actively broken or weeping skin – Strataderm is intended only for fully closed and healed skin.
- Not intended for use on signs of skin infection at the scar site (increasing pain, warmth, pus, spreading redness, or fever) without first seeking medical advice.
Drug / Food Interactions
- No clinically significant drug or food interactions are known for Strataderm Gel, as it is a topical, externally applied silicone-based scar gel that is not intended to be absorbed systemically in meaningful amounts.
- There is no known interaction with oral medicines, supplements, or food when the gel is used as directed on fully closed, healed skin.
Quick Tips
- Only start applying Strataderm once the wound has fully closed and any stitches have been removed – never use it on open or unhealed wounds.
- Apply the thinnest possible layer – a little goes a long way, and a thick layer simply takes longer to dry.
- Let the gel dry completely (usually a few minutes) before dressing or applying make-up over the scar.
- Be consistent with daily application, applying at around the same times each day as part of your routine.
- Wash the treated area gently before each new application rather than layering gel over old residue.
- If the scar is on a highly visible or flexible area (face, joints), ask your doctor or pharmacist whether once- or twice-daily application suits your situation best.

Relevant Information
Precautions: Strataderm Gel should only be applied to fully closed and healed skin, never to open wounds, weeping skin, or sutures that have not been removed. Individuals with a known silicone allergy should avoid use, and a small patch test is sensible for those with a history of skin sensitivity. Avoid contact with the eyes and mucous membranes, and wash hands after application unless the hands are the treated area.
When to See a Doctor or Pharmacist: Speak to a doctor or pharmacist before starting Strataderm if you are unsure whether a wound has fully healed, if the scar shows signs of infection (increasing pain, warmth, pus, spreading redness, or fever), or if you notice a persistent allergic-type skin reaction after application. A doctor can also advise on the most appropriate care for the scar based on its age, size, and location.

Singapore’s Health Sciences Authority (HSA) allows personal imports of up to three months’ supply of a medicine for your own use or an immediate family member’s, as long as it contains no controlled drugs, psychotropic substances or prohibited items. Keep the product in its original labelled packaging and keep a copy of your prescription or doctor’s letter with it. An order delivered to Singapore arrives as a personal import of a Malaysia-registered product; HSA product registration is not required for personal-use quantities, but it is also not the same as a product registered for sale in Singapore. For deliveries to Singapore, allow more time before chasing an order than you would for a local Malaysian delivery, as the parcel passes through customs clearance and tracking updates can appear later in the journey.
