Overview

Tiger Balm Mosquito Repellent Spray (Leo) is a mosquito repellent spray from Tiger Balm, the household brand from Haw Par that is well known across Malaysia and Singapore. It is designed to be applied to exposed skin to help keep mosquitoes away during outdoor activities and daily routines. Mosquitoes are active all year round in Malaysia’s warm, humid climate, making a repellent a practical item for many households. Please refer to the label for the active repellent ingredient, its concentration and the stated duration of protection.

A spray format allows quick, even application over the arms, legs and other exposed areas. It can be useful for evening walks, gardening, picnics, camping, hiking and travel to areas where mosquitoes are common. Using a repellent is one part of mosquito bite prevention, alongside wearing long-sleeved clothing, using screens or nets and removing stagnant water around the home. Reapply according to the label, especially after sweating heavily or getting wet.

Tiger Balm Mosquito Repellent Spray (Leo) is for external use only and should be used according to the instructions on the pack. Adults should apply the product on behalf of children and avoid their hands, eyes and mouth. Check the label for any minimum age or precautions before using it on children, and seek advice from a doctor or pharmacist for babies or if you are pregnant or breastfeeding. If you develop fever, joint pain or rash after mosquito bites, see a doctor promptly.

Directions for Use

  • Hold the bottle about 15–20cm away from the skin and spray evenly over exposed skin.
  • Spread evenly with the hands if needed, then wash hands after application.
  • To apply on the face, spray onto the hands first and spread carefully, avoiding the eyes and mouth.
  • Do not spray directly on cuts, wounds or irritated skin, or under clothing.
  • Reapply as directed on the label, and wash treated skin with soap and water when protection is no longer needed.

Dosage

Apply just enough to cover exposed skin, and reapply according to the interval stated on the label or after swimming, heavy sweating or towel drying. Avoid excessive or repeated application beyond what the label recommends.

  • Store below 30°C in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight.
  • Keep away from heat, sparks and open flames.

  • Mild skin irritation, redness or itching may occur at the application site.
  • Eye irritation or stinging may occur if the spray gets into the eyes.
  • Breathing in the spray may cause throat or airway irritation in some people.
  • If irritation persists, stop use, wash the area with soap and water and consult a doctor or pharmacist.

  • Do not apply to cuts, wounds or irritated skin.

  • If using sunscreen, apply sunscreen first, allow it to absorb, then apply the repellent.
  • Avoid using combination sunscreen-repellent products together with this repellent unless advised.
  • If you are using prescribed skin treatments, check with your doctor or pharmacist before applying over them.

Quick Tips

  • Apply in a well-ventilated area or outdoors and avoid inhaling the spray.
  • Wear long sleeves and long pants in addition to repellent where possible.

  • Reapply after heavy sweating or swimming, as directed on the label.
  • Wash hands after applying and before eating.
  • Wash treated skin at the end of the day.

Relevant Information

Mosquito repellents reduce the chance of mosquito bites but cannot prevent all bites. Combine repellent use with other protective measures, especially during outbreaks of mosquito-borne illnesses.

For external use only. Keep out of reach of children. Seek medical attention promptly if you develop fever after mosquito bites.
