Overview

Tigerus Tiger Milk Mushroom 300mg Vegecap is a herbal supplement from Tigerus containing 300mg of tiger milk mushroom (Lignosus rhinocerus) extract in each vegetable capsule. Tiger milk mushroom, known locally as cendawan susu harimau, is a native mushroom of the tropical rainforests of Malaysia and neighbouring countries. The part traditionally used is the sclerotium, a tuber-like underground structure from which the mushroom grows.

Tiger milk mushroom has a long history of use in Malaysian traditional practice, where the sclerotium was traditionally prepared by local communities as a general tonic. Because the wild mushroom is rare, modern supplements rely on cultivated sources. Laboratory and animal studies have examined its natural components, such as polysaccharides, proteins and beta-glucans, and toxicity studies in animals have generally not shown harmful effects at studied doses. However, clinical research in humans is still limited, so it should be regarded as a traditional herbal supplement rather than a treatment for any condition.

The capsules are vegetarian and made without gelatin, preservatives or artificial colouring. As with other mushroom-based products, people with mushroom allergies should avoid it, and anyone who is pregnant, breastfeeding, taking regular medicines or managing a long-term illness should speak to a doctor or pharmacist before use. Please refer to the product label for the recommended serving and pack size.

Directions for Use

Swallow the capsule whole with a glass of water. Taking it after a meal may help reduce the chance of stomach discomfort.

Follow the serving and frequency stated on the product label, or as advised by your doctor or pharmacist. Take it at around the same time each day for a consistent routine.

Dosage

Adults: Take as directed on the product label, or as advised by your doctor or pharmacist. Each capsule provides 300mg of tiger milk mushroom (Lignosus rhinocerus) extract.

Do not exceed the recommended daily serving stated on the label. The product is not intended for children unless advised by a doctor. If you miss a serving, take the next one at the usual time without doubling up.

Storage Instructions

Store in a cool, dry place below 30°C, away from direct sunlight and humidity. Keep the container tightly closed after use and keep out of reach of children.

Side Effects

  • Common: Mild stomach discomfort, bloating or nausea.
  • Common: Changes in bowel habits such as loose stools or constipation.
  • Serious: Allergic reactions such as rash, itching, swelling of the face or lips, or difficulty breathing, particularly in people sensitive to mushrooms. Stop using the product and seek medical help immediately.

Contraindications

  • Known allergy to tiger milk mushroom, other mushrooms or fungi, or to any ingredient in the product.
  • Pregnancy and breastfeeding, as there is not enough reliable safety information in humans.
  • Children, unless advised by a doctor.
  • People who have had an organ transplant or who take immune-suppressing medicines, unless approved by their specialist, as mushroom polysaccharides may influence immune activity.

Drug / Food Interactions

  • No clinically confirmed drug interactions with tiger milk mushroom have been established, as human research is limited.
  • Immunosuppressants (such as ciclosporin, tacrolimus or corticosteroids): as a precaution, consult your specialist before use, since mushroom polysaccharides may influence immune activity.
  • Regular medicines for long-term conditions (such as diabetes, blood pressure, blood thinners or cancer treatment): check with your doctor or pharmacist before adding any herbal supplement.
  • Other mushroom supplements: avoid combining several mushroom-based products without professional advice to prevent excessive intake.

Quick Tips

  • Read the label for the recommended serving and stick to it.

Relevant Information

Precautions: Although tiger milk mushroom is a traditional Malaysian ingredient, natural products can still cause side effects and allergic reactions. Avoid use if you are allergic to mushrooms, and avoid during pregnancy and breastfeeding unless a doctor advises it. Human clinical data are limited, so do not use this supplement as a replacement for medical treatment or a balanced diet.

When to See a Doctor or Pharmacist: Consult a doctor or pharmacist before use if you have a long-term medical condition, take regular medicines, are receiving cancer treatment or have had an organ transplant. See a doctor if you have a cough, breathing difficulty or other symptoms that persist or worsen, and stop the product if you notice any sign of an allergic reaction.
