Overview

Total Image S Body Capsule is an herbal capsule from Total Image, a Malaysian health and beauty brand. The manufacturer describes it as containing a blend of 15 natural herbal ingredients, and the available product information names green tea extract, Garcinia cambogia and caffeine among them. The capsules are taken by mouth with water, and the brand’s own serving suggestion is two capsules daily after lunch. The brand lists the product as Halal certified by JAKIM; the full list of herbs and the amount of each ingredient per capsule should be checked on the product label.

Green tea extract is a concentrated preparation of Camellia sinensis leaves that provides catechins such as EGCG, along with naturally occurring caffeine. Garcinia cambogia is a tropical fruit whose rind contains hydroxycitric acid (HCA). Caffeine is a stimulant that also occurs in coffee, tea and energy drinks, so it adds to the total caffeine you consume each day. These ingredients have known safety considerations: concentrated green tea extracts and Garcinia-containing products have been linked to rare but serious cases of liver injury, and caffeine can cause restlessness, palpitations and poor sleep in sensitive people.

This product is an herbal capsule and is not a substitute for a balanced diet, regular physical activity or medical advice, and no particular change in body weight or body shape can be promised. It is intended for healthy adults only and is not suitable for children, adolescents, or women who are pregnant or breastfeeding. Anyone with liver disease, heart or blood pressure problems, anxiety, or who takes regular medicines – especially antidepressants – should speak to a doctor or pharmacist before use.

Directions for Use

Swallow the capsules whole with a glass of water after a meal. The manufacturer’s serving suggestion is to take them after lunch; taking green tea extract with food rather than on an empty stomach is advised, and avoiding late-day doses helps reduce caffeine-related sleep problems. Do not open or chew the capsules. Follow the directions on the product label, and note that other sources have suggested a different timing – if in doubt, follow the label on your pack.

Dosage

Adults: 2 capsules daily after lunch, according to the manufacturer’s serving suggestion.

Do not exceed the recommended daily dose and do not take extra capsules to try to get faster results. Not for use in children or adolescents under 18 years. Confirm the dose on the product label before use.

Storage Instructions

Store in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight, heat and moisture. Keep the container tightly closed after each use. Keep out of reach of children.

Side Effects

  • Common: nervousness, jitteriness, restlessness or difficulty sleeping, due to caffeine.
  • Common: headache, nausea, stomach discomfort or constipation.
  • Common: faster heartbeat or palpitations in people sensitive to caffeine.
  • Common: changes in bowel habit, such as loose stools or abdominal cramps, as some herbal blends may affect the bowel.
  • Serious: signs of liver injury – yellowing of the skin or eyes, dark urine, pale stools, persistent nausea, upper-right abdominal pain or unusual tiredness. Stop immediately and see a doctor.
  • Serious: chest pain, a very fast or irregular heartbeat, severe agitation, or mood changes such as unusual excitement or decreased need for sleep. Stop use and seek medical help.
  • Serious: allergic reactions such as rash, swelling or difficulty breathing.

Contraindications

  • Pregnancy and breastfeeding.
  • Children and adolescents under 18 years of age.
  • People with existing liver disease or a history of liver problems, including liver injury from herbal products.
  • People taking antidepressants or other medicines that affect serotonin (such as SSRIs, SNRIs or triptans), due to case reports of serotonergic effects and mania linked to Garcinia cambogia.
  • People who are sensitive to caffeine, or who have heart rhythm problems, uncontrolled high blood pressure, an overactive thyroid, anxiety disorders or a seizure disorder, unless approved by their doctor.
  • People with a known allergy to any ingredient in this product.

Drug / Food Interactions

  • Antidepressants and serotonergic medicines (e.g. SSRIs such as fluoxetine or sertraline, SNRIs, triptans, tramadol): Garcinia cambogia may have serotonergic activity – avoid combining.
  • Other caffeine sources and stimulants (coffee, tea, energy drinks, pre-workout products, decongestants such as pseudoephedrine): combined intake can cause palpitations, anxiety and insomnia. Healthy adults are generally advised to keep total caffeine below about 400mg per day.
  • Medicines that raise caffeine levels (e.g. ciprofloxacin, fluvoxamine, some oral contraceptives) and theophylline: may increase caffeine-related side effects.
  • Medicines or products that can affect the liver (e.g. high-dose paracetamol, some cholesterol and anti-tuberculosis medicines, other herbal products) and alcohol: may add to the risk of liver injury.
  • Blood pressure and heart medicines, including the beta-blocker nadolol (green tea can reduce its absorption): ask your doctor before use.
  • Diabetes medicines: Garcinia may affect blood glucose; monitor closely and ask your doctor.
  • Food: take after a meal rather than on an empty stomach, and limit other caffeinated drinks on the same day.

Quick Tips

  • Take the capsules after lunch, not on an empty stomach and not late in the evening.
  • Count your total daily caffeine, including coffee, teh tarik, energy drinks and other supplements.
  • Never take more than the labelled dose – extra capsules increase side-effect risks without adding benefit.
  • Stop and see a doctor promptly if you notice yellow eyes or skin, dark urine or persistent nausea.
  • Pair any supplement with balanced meals, regular activity and enough sleep, which matter far more for overall health.
  • Tell your doctor or pharmacist you are taking this product, especially if you take antidepressants or heart medicines.
