  • Severe liver impairment, unless specifically directed by a specialist

Drug / Food Interactions

  • Voriconazole can raise the levels of many other medicines, including certain statins, some immunosuppressants, and some heart medicines – dose adjustments are often needed.
  • Combining with medicines that prolong the QT interval of the heart can increase the risk of a serious heart rhythm problem.
  • Inform your care team of all medicines you are taking, as voriconazole has many significant drug interactions.

Quick Tips

  • Avoid prolonged or intense sunlight exposure and use sun protection, as this medicine increases skin sensitivity to light.
  • Report any changes in vision to your care team, as visual disturbances are a recognised effect of this medicine.
  • Keep all scheduled blood test appointments to monitor liver function during treatment.
