Wegovy FlexTouch Dosage Guide: 0.25mg to 2.4mg & Click Chart

What Wegovy FlexTouch is
Wegovy (Semaglutide) is a once-weekly injection prescribed for chronic weight management, alongside a reduced-calorie diet and increased physical activity. In Malaysia it is a prescription-only medicine, supplied in FlexTouch pre-filled pens.
Treatment does not start at the full dose. It begins at 0.25mg and steps up every 4 weeks to the 2.4mg maintenance dose. Each step has its own pen strength, which is why patients often search for the right pen, the dose schedule, or a “click chart”.
This guide covers all five FlexTouch strengths, the standard escalation schedule, and what to expect at each stage. Your doctor decides your dose and when to move up.
Wegovy FlexTouch pen strengths: 0.25mg to 2.4mg
There are five FlexTouch strengths, and each pen holds 4 weekly doses of one fixed strength. One pen covers one month at that dose.

The Wegovy “click chart”: what you should know
There is no official Wegovy click chart. Charts shared online claim to convert dial clicks into partial doses, so one pen can be split into smaller or extra doses. This use is not covered by the approved product information.
The FlexTouch pen is designed to deliver one fixed dose per injection: four full doses per pen, at the strength printed on the label. Counting clicks to measure a different amount carries clear risks:
- Dose errors. Clicks are not a validated measure, so the amount injected may be higher or lower than intended.
- Side effects. An accidental higher dose can worsen nausea, vomiting and other gastrointestinal effects.
- Reduced effectiveness. Under-dosing can slow progress and disrupt the escalation schedule.
- Running out early. Splitting doses can leave the pen empty before treatment is due to change.
If a dose step is hard to tolerate, speak to your doctor rather than adjusting the pen yourself. The approved options include delaying the next step, or returning to the previous dose until symptoms improve. Your doctor will decide which applies to you.
Using your pen: missed doses, side effects and storage
Injection basics. Inject once a week, on the same day, at any time and with or without food. Use the abdomen, thigh or upper arm, and rotate sites. Use a new needle each time and press until the yellow bar stops moving, which takes about 5–10 seconds.
Changing your injection day. You can move your weekly day, as long as there are at least 3 days (72 hours) between doses.
Missed a dose? Take it as soon as possible if it is within 5 days of the missed dose. If more than 5 days have passed, skip it and take the next dose on your usual day. Do not take two doses to make up for one.
Side effects during escalation. The most common side effects are gastrointestinal: nausea, diarrhoea, vomiting, constipation and abdominal pain. These are seen mainly during the dose-escalation period. Eating smaller meals and stopping when full may help. Contact your doctor if symptoms are severe or do not settle.
Storage. Keep new pens in the fridge at 2–8°C, away from the cooling element, and never freeze them. Once in use, a pen can be kept for up to 6 weeks below 30°C or in the fridge. Store it with the cap on and the needle removed.

Frequently asked questions
What is the starting dose of Wegovy?
Treatment starts at 0.25mg once a week for the first 4 weeks. This dose helps your body adjust and is not intended for weight loss on its own.
How long does it take to reach 2.4mg?
On the standard schedule, you reach the 2.4mg maintenance dose in week 17, after four 4-week steps. Your doctor may slow this down if needed.
How many doses are in one Wegovy FlexTouch pen?
Each pen contains 4 weekly doses of a single strength, which covers one month.
Can I use a click chart to split my Wegovy pen?
No. Click charts are not part of the approved instructions. The pen is designed to give four full doses at its labelled strength. Speak to your doctor if you need a different dose.
Can I stay on a lower dose?
Some patients stay on a lower step for longer if side effects are difficult. Your doctor will review your progress and tolerance before deciding.
What happens if I miss a dose?
Take it within 5 days of the missed dose. After 5 days, skip it and continue on your usual day.
Is Wegovy the same as Ozempic?
Both contain semaglutide, but they are approved for different uses and come in different doses and pens. Wegovy is approved for weight management; Ozempic is approved for type 2 diabetes.
