Restasis 0.05% Eye Emulsion

Restasis Eye Drops is a prescription ophthalmic medication that belongs to a class of drugs known as immunomodulators. Its active ingredient is cyclosporine. Like all medications, it may cause some side effects such as eye burning, redness, tearing, or blurred vision after application. If you’re thinking about adding Restasis to your routine, it’s good to know it’s preservative-free, comes in single-use vials for hygiene, and is meant to be used long-term under doctor supervision—so always keep that in mind when planning your treatment.

Tilt your head back and gently instill one drop of Restasis 0.05% into each eye, usually twice daily, or as directed by your doctor.

The typical recommended dosage is one drop in each affected eye every 12 hours (twice a day), unless your healthcare provider advises otherwise.

Restasis 0.05% Eye Emulsion generally has a shelf life of around 24 months from the date of manufacture; always check the packaging for the exact expiry date.

Store below 25°C, away from direct sunlight and moisture. Each vial is for single-use and should be discarded immediately after use—even if there’s some emulsion left.

Restasis should not be used by individuals who have a known allergy to cyclosporine or any component of the emulsion. It may not be suitable for those with active eye infections—consult a physician before starting.

There are no known significant food interactions, but it’s important not to use it alongside other eye drops without proper spacing (usually at least 15 minutes apart). Always inform your doctor of all eye medications you’re taking to avoid adverse interactions.
