It is advisable to avoid or limit alcohol intake while taking Avonac SR 100mg Tablet 10s (strip). This is because alcohol can irritate the stomach and may cause gastrointestinal bleeding.
Pregnancy Warning(Not Safe)
Category B warning for topical Avonac SR 100mg Tablet 10s (strip) 3% gel Category C warning for all preparations in women with less than 30 weeks gestation pregnancy Category D warning for all preparations in women with more than 30 weeks gestation pregnancy
Breastfeeding Warning(Limited Data)
There is limited data on the usage of Avonac SR 100mg Tablet 10s (strip) during breastfeeding. It is found that Avonac SR 100mg Tablet 10s (strip) is excreted in very little quantities in breast milk and not adequate to cause harmful effects. However, it is advisable to practice caution while taking Avonac SR 100mg Tablet 10s (strip) during breastfeeding.
Driving Warning (Generally Safe)
Avonac SR 100mg Tablet 10s (strip) usually does not affect the ability to drive. Do not drive unless you are well.
Kidney Warning(Use With Care)
In patients with renal impairment, it is important to use this drug with caution as NSAIDs may cause kidney function to deteriorate. Since Avonac SR 100mg Tablet 10s (strip) is eliminated mainly by the kidneys, close monitoring is required for patients with significant impairment of kidney function.
Liver Warning(Limited Data)
Avonac SR 100mg Tablet 10s (strip) should be used with caution in patients with liver disease as there is an increased risk of gastrointestinal hemorrhage and fluid retention. Patients with severe liver disease should try to avoid taking Avonac SR 100mg Tablet 10s (strip).
Recommended dosage: Adult: Take 1 tablet daily only when required. Take after meal. Not recommened for children.

This medicine is for oral use only. Swallow this medication as a whole with water. Do not chew, crush or break it. It is better to take this medication at a fixed time each day if it is indicated for everyday use.

Precautionary Steps of Avonac SR 100mg Tablet 10s (strip)
Please consult a doctor especially before taking Avonac. If you have any of the following conditions & contraindications:-
Hypersensitivity
Active gastric or intestinal ulcer
Bleeding or perforation
Severe hepatic, renal & cardiac failure
Preexisting asthma, asthma attacks
Urticaria or acute rhinitis
Proctitis
3rd trimester pregnancy
Concomitant use with systemic NSAIDs including COX-2 inhibitors
Swelling of nasal mucosa (ie, nasal polyps)
COPD or chronic resp tract infection
Hepatic impairment, hepatic porphyria
History of hypertension
Concomitant use with diuretics
Substantial extracellular volume depletion from any cause eg, before or after major surgery
Defects of haemostasis
Be careful with pregnancy in general
Lactation
Elderly

Avonac Drug Interactions
Drug to drug interaction reaction of Avonac varies from a person to another person. It is advisable to check with your doctor about all the possible drug interactions before starting the medication.
Avonac may raise plasma concentrations of lithium & digoxin
It may also decrease antihypertensive effects of diuretics, β-blockers & ACE inhibitors.
There may be an Increased serum K levels when used with potassium-sparing drugs.
There may be increased frequency of GI effects when used with other systemic NSAIDs & corticosteroids.
There is also an Increased risk of bleeding when used with anticoagulants & antiplatelet agents.
There is an increased risk of GI bleeding when used with SSRIs.
Avonac may cause an increased methotrexate toxicity & cyclosporin nephrotoxicity.
