Flexiseq Gel

Flexiseq Gel is an Over-the-Counter (OTC) topical gel built around Sequessome vesicle technology — tiny lipid particles designed to be massaged onto the skin over a joint. The manufacturer describes it as a drug-free formulation: it does not contain any pharmaceutical active ingredient, NSAID, or other systemically absorbed medicine, which sets it apart from conventional topical pain gels sold in the same category.

As an OTC product, Flexiseq Gel is available at pharmacies and through online pharmacies serving Malaysia and Singapore without needing a doctor’s prescription. Because it is a device-type topical product rather than a drug, it is generally positioned for long-term daily application to joints such as the knee, hand, or hip, and its non-drug formulation is the main feature that distinguishes it from paracetamol-, NSAID-, or capsaicin-based topical joint products.

Flexiseq Gel is supplied in a tube format intended for repeated topical application over time. The exact tube size, batch number, and expiry date are printed on the packaging and should be checked at the time of purchase.

• Wash and dry the skin over the joint before applying.
• Apply a thin layer of gel to the skin around the affected joint, morning and night.
• Gently massage the gel into the skin — do not rub it in as vigorously as a lotion.
• Leave the gel to dry for around 10 minutes before covering the area with clothing.
• Wash your hands after application unless the hands themselves are being treated.

Flexiseq Gel is a topical device product rather than a drug, so it does not have a conventional milligram dose. The standard application is a thin layer applied to the affected joint twice daily (morning and night), as printed on the pack. Do not apply more frequently than directed, and do not apply to broken or infected skin.

Store below 25°C in a cool, dry place, away from direct sunlight and out of the reach and sight of children. Keep the tube tightly capped between uses.

• Common: Mild reddening of the skin at the application site.
• Common: Dryness or flaking of the treated skin.
• Uncommon: Itchiness or a mild rash where the gel was applied.
• Rare/Serious: Signs of a more significant skin reaction, such as blistering or spreading redness, which should be reported to a doctor or pharmacist and the gel stopped.

• Known hypersensitivity (allergy) to any ingredient in this gel.
• Do not apply to broken skin, open wounds, or a site with an active skin infection.
• Do not apply to the eyes or mucous membranes.

• Flexiseq Gel is a topical, non-drug device product and is not absorbed into the bloodstream in a way that causes known drug interactions.
• Avoid applying at the same time and same site as another topical product until the first has dried, to prevent one product diluting or interfering with the other on the skin.
• No food interactions apply, as this is a topical product and not taken by mouth.

• Apply to clean, dry skin for the best contact with the joint.
• Use a thin layer — a thicker layer does not need to be rubbed in harder.
• Let the gel dry fully (about 10 minutes) before dressing or covering the area.
• Wash your hands after applying, unless treating the hands themselves.
• Keep the tube capped tightly between uses to prevent it drying out.
• Apply at consistent times, such as morning and night, to build a routine.

Precautions: This gel is for external use on intact skin only. Avoid contact with the eyes, mouth, and other mucous membranes, and rinse thoroughly with water if accidental contact occurs. Use in pregnancy or breastfeeding, or in a young child, should only be on a pharmacist’s or doctor’s advice, as this has not been specifically studied.

When to See a Doctor or Pharmacist: Stop using the gel and seek advice if joint pain or swelling worsens, if the joint becomes hot, red, or acutely swollen (which can indicate a more serious joint problem), or if a skin reaction such as blistering or spreading rash develops at the application site.
