Ammeda Ready-Pak Dressing Set

Ammeda Ready-Pak Dressing Set is a pre-packed, sterile collection of basic wound-care tools bundled together in a single sealed pack, intended as a complete single-use kit rather than as individual items. A typical set contains gauze swabs, absorbent cotton balls, plastic forceps, a surgical drape, and a tray, all sealed together inside one sterile outer pack.

The set is free from medication or antiseptic — every component inside is a plain, sterile tool or dressing material, so any wound disinfectant or ointment needed is a separate product applied alongside it. It is sold as a general medical consumable in Malaysia rather than as a medicine, does not require a prescription, and is compact enough for home first-aid kits, clinic use, or travel, supplied one pack per set.

The set works on the principle of a ready-assembled sterile field: the tray and surgical drape create a clean working surface, the plastic forceps allow gauze, cotton, or drape components to be handled without direct finger contact, and the gauze swabs and cotton balls provide absorbent material for cleaning or dabbing a wound area. Every item is held together inside one outer sterile pack, so opening the pack under clean conditions exposes an entire set of tools that have not been individually handled since packing.

Because the whole set is sealed as one unit, its sterility depends on the outer pack remaining intact; once opened, the internal sterile field is only maintained for the duration of that single dressing session, which is why the set is designed to be used in full during one sitting and then discarded rather than part-used and resealed.

Wash and dry your hands thoroughly before opening the set. Check that the outer sterile pack is intact and undamaged, and check the expiry date before opening. Peel open the pack along the indicated edge and lay the tray and drape out on a clean, flat surface without touching the inner components directly with your fingers.

Use the forceps provided to pick up and position the gauze swabs, cotton balls, or drape as needed for a single dressing change. If a wound disinfectant or ointment is required, this must be added separately, as the set itself contains no medicated products. Once the dressing session is complete, dispose of all used components — do not attempt to re-sterilise or reuse any part of an opened set.
