Overview

Atrovent N 20mcg Inhaler contains Ipratropium Bromide 20mcg per actuation (metered-dose inhaler) and is presented as an inhaler. It is supplied in a pack size of 200 doses.

It is classified as a non-prescription medicine, so no prescription is needed to order it. Under Malaysian rules for medicine information, this page carries product, safety and handling information only.

You can consult a doctor or pharmacist online on DoctorOnCall about this product before or after you order. Every order is checked by a registered pharmacist before it is delivered. Always read the label and the leaflet supplied with the pack.

Directions for Use

Shake the inhaler well before each use. Breathe out fully, then place the mouthpiece between your lips, forming a tight seal, and breathe in slowly and deeply while pressing down on the canister to release one dose. Hold your breath for about 10 seconds before breathing out slowly. Rinse your mouth with water after use if advised by your doctor. Ensure you are shown the correct inhaler technique by your doctor or pharmacist, as incorrect technique reduces the effectiveness of the medicine.

Dosage

The typical adult dose prescribed is one to two puffs (20-40mcg) taken up to three or four times daily, as directed by your doctor based on the severity of symptoms and response to treatment. Do not exceed the number of puffs or frequency prescribed. If your usual dose does not relieve symptoms as expected, contact your doctor promptly rather than increasing the dose on your own.

Shelf Life

Atrovent N 20mcg Inhaler should be used within the shelf-life period printed on the canister and carton when stored under the recommended conditions. Do not use the inhaler after the expiry date, and note the number of doses used to avoid running out unexpectedly, as the canister may continue to spray propellant without active medicine near the end of its labelled dose count.

Storage Instructions

Store below 30°C, away from direct sunlight and heat. Do not puncture, break, or expose the canister to temperatures above 50°C, as it is pressurised. Keep out of reach of children.
