Overview

Avetaprost (Lataprost) 0.005% Eye Drop is a prescription-only medicine (POM) that contains Latanoprost 0.005% (50 micrograms/mL). It is supplied as eye drops and is dispensed in Malaysia only against a valid prescription issued by a registered doctor.

Under Malaysian rules for prescription medicines, this page carries product, safety and handling information only. Your doctor or pharmacist will explain whether this medicine is suitable for you, the dose you should take, and how long you should take it.

On DoctorOnCall, Avetaprost (Lataprost) 0.005% Eye Drop is reviewed by a licensed doctor through an online consultation and dispensed by a registered pharmacist before delivery. Always follow the instructions on your prescription label and the package insert supplied with the product, and do not share this medicine with anyone else.

Directions for Use

Wash your hands before use. Tilt your head back, gently pull down the lower eyelid, and instil one drop into the pouch formed, avoiding contact between the dropper tip and the eye or any surface. If you wear soft contact lenses, remove them before instilling {title_en} and wait at least 15 minutes before reinserting them. If you use other eye drops, space them at least 5 minutes apart from this product.

Dosage

The usual dose of Avetaprost (Lataprost) 0.005% Eye Drop is one drop in the affected eye(s) once daily, preferably in the evening. Using it more than once daily may actually reduce its pressure-lowering effect, so always follow your ophthalmologist’s instructions on frequency and which eye(s) to treat.

Storage Instructions

Store unopened bottles in a refrigerator (2-8°C). Once opened, the bottle may be kept at room temperature below 25°C, away from direct sunlight, and should be discarded 4 weeks after first opening even if some solution remains.
