Clean and dry the affected area before use. Apply a thin layer of Axcel Fungicort Cream to the affected skin and gently massage it in, usually twice daily (morning and evening) or as directed by a doctor or pharmacist. Use only for the short course recommended — typically up to 1 to 2 weeks — since prolonged steroid use on a fungal infection can mask symptoms, thin the skin, or allow the fungus to spread if used incorrectly or for too long.

Apply a thin film of Axcel Fungicort Cream to the affected area twice a day for a short course, generally not exceeding 1 to 2 weeks, unless a doctor advises a longer period. Once the inflammation and itching have settled, it is common to switch to a plain antifungal cream (without steroid) to complete the full antifungal treatment course, as directed by a pharmacist or doctor. Do not use continuously beyond the advised duration without medical review.

Axcel Fungicort Cream is valid for use up to the expiry date printed on the tube and carton when stored correctly and unopened. Check the expiry date before each use and discard the product once it has expired or if it shows any change in colour, consistency, or smell after opening.

Store below 30°C in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight. Keep the tube tightly closed when not in use and avoid storing in humid areas such as the bathroom. Do not freeze. Keep out of the reach and sight of children.

• Known allergy or hypersensitivity to clotrimazole, hydrocortisone, or other imidazole antifungals or corticosteroids
• Not for use on untreated bacterial or viral skin infections (e.g. cold sores, chickenpox, impetigo) as the steroid may worsen these conditions
• Not for use in or near the eyes
• Avoid long-term or continuous use without medical supervision, especially on the face, groin, or thin-skinned areas
• Not recommended for infants without a doctor’s advice
• Pregnant or breastfeeding women should consult a doctor or pharmacist before use

• Topical use generally results in minimal systemic absorption, so significant drug interactions are uncommon with short, correct use
• Avoid applying other topical steroid or antifungal products on the same area at the same time unless advised
• Extended use over large areas of skin, especially under occlusive dressings, may increase systemic steroid absorption — inform your pharmacist if you use other steroid medicines
• No significant food interactions are expected with topical use

• Use Axcel Fungicort Cream strictly for the short duration advised — this is a combination steroid+antifungal cream, not meant for long-term or repeated self-treatment
• Do not use it as a general-purpose itch or rash cream for conditions that have not been confirmed as an inflamed fungal infection
• Once redness and itching improve, ask your pharmacist whether to switch to a plain antifungal cream to finish treating the underlying fungus
• Keep the treated area clean and dry between applications
• Stop use and seek medical advice if the rash worsens, spreads, or does not improve within 1 to 2 weeks
• Avoid covering the treated area with airtight dressings unless instructed by a doctor

Combination antifungal-steroid creams like Axcel Fungicort are designed for short-term relief of inflamed fungal skin infections and should not be used as a routine long-term treatment. Using a steroid-containing cream on a fungal infection for too long, or without the antifungal properly clearing the fungus first, can sometimes make the underlying infection worse or harder to diagnose (a condition sometimes referred to as tinea incognito). If symptoms persist beyond the recommended short course, or keep returning, a doctor should reassess the skin condition before continuing treatment.
