Overview

This is a non-prescription product and can be purchased without a prescription. Only product, safety and handling details are published on this page.

An online consultation with a DoctorOnCall doctor or pharmacist is available for this product, and a registered pharmacist reviews each order before dispatch to Malaysia or Singapore. Follow the directions on the label and on the leaflet inside the pack.

Directions for Use

Swallow the tablet whole with a glass of water, generally three to four times daily or as directed by your doctor. The tablet may be taken with or without food. Do not crush or chew the tablet unless your doctor or pharmacist has advised you it is suitable to do so.

Dosage

The usual adult dose is 2mg to 4mg taken three to four times daily, adjusted by your doctor according to response and tolerability. Do not take more than prescribed even if symptoms feel poorly controlled; contact your doctor instead, as this may mean your overall asthma treatment plan needs review.

Relevant Information

Oral salbutamol tablets such as Axcel Salbutamol 4mg are supplied on DoctorOnCall as a prescription medicine, reflecting the need for doctor-guided dosing and monitoring, particularly given the higher chance of tremor and palpitations compared with inhaled salbutamol. A need for increasingly frequent doses should prompt earlier medical review rather than self-adjustment.
