Overview

Bioplast First Aid Dressing (Fabric) is a healthcare product with Non-woven breathable fabric, hypoallergenic adhesive, and sterile absorbent pad. declared as its active content. It is supplied in a pack size of 10s.

This is an over-the-counter (OTC) product and can be purchased without a prescription. Only product, safety and handling details are published on this page.

An online consultation with a DoctorOnCall doctor or pharmacist is available for this product, and a registered pharmacist reviews each order before dispatch to Malaysia or Singapore. Follow the directions on the label and on the leaflet inside the pack.

Directions for Use

Wash and thoroughly dry the skin around the area to be covered, as the adhesive bonds best to clean, dry skin free of oil, lotion, or loose debris.

Select a strip large enough that the adhesive fabric border extends well beyond the edges of the area being covered.

Open the individual wrapper immediately before use to keep the central pad sterile, then peel away the protective liner without touching the pad, and position it directly over the area, pressing the fabric edges down firmly on both sides.

Smooth the fabric from the centre outward so it follows the natural contour of the skin, taking advantage of its stretch over joints or curved areas.

Change the strip if it becomes wet, soiled, or starts to lift at the edges, and always use a fresh strip for each new application.

To remove, lift one corner gently and peel the strip back slowly, keeping the pull parallel to the skin rather than straight upward, to reduce discomfort.

Dosage

Not applicable. Bioplast First Aid Dressing (Fabric) is a wound-care device (an adhesive fabric dressing) and not a medicine, so it is not dosed. It is applied as an individual strip, sized and positioned according to the area being covered, as described under Directions for Use.

Shelf Life

An exact shelf-life duration is not confirmed here; please check the expiry date printed on the individual strip wrapper or outer carton and use the product before that date. Do not use a strip if its wrapper is torn, punctured, or already open, as sterility of the pad can no longer be assured.

Storage Instructions

Store in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight, heat, and moisture, ideally at normal room temperature. Keep each strip in its sealed individual wrapper until it is needed, and keep the outer carton closed between uses so the unused strips remain sterile and clean. Keep out of reach of young children.

Side Effects

  • Common: Mild, temporary redness or a faint adhesive mark at the edges of the strip after removal, particularly with frequent reapplication to the same area.
  • Common: Slight dryness or flaking of the skin directly under the adhesive border after prolonged wear.
  • Serious: Allergic contact dermatitis, appearing as itching, blistering, or a spreading rash beyond the area covered by the strip — stop use and seek medical or pharmacist advice if this occurs.

Contraindications

  • Known allergy or hypersensitivity to adhesive plasters, non-woven fabric backings, or similar medical adhesive materials.
  • Direct application over actively bleeding wounds, deep puncture wounds, burns, or infected skin without prior guidance from a healthcare professional.
  • Use on skin that has previously reacted with blistering or severe irritation to this or a similar adhesive fabric dressing.

Drug / Food Interactions

  • Not applicable — this is a topical adhesive wound-care device with no drug or food interactions.

Quick Tips

  • Open the individual wrapper only immediately before use to help keep the central pad sterile.
  • Apply the strip to clean, dry skin for the most secure and even adhesion.
  • Take advantage of the fabric’s stretch by smoothing it over joints or curved areas without pulling it taut.
  • Check the skin under the strip periodically and change it if it becomes wet, soiled, or starts lifting at the edges.
  • Remove the strip slowly, parallel to the skin surface, rather than peeling it straight upward.
  • Keep unused strips in their sealed wrappers until needed to preserve sterility and adhesive freshness.

Relevant Information

Precautions: This dressing is intended for external application to intact or minimally broken skin only. It offers only light moisture resistance and is not fully waterproof, so avoid prolonged submersion in water while it is in place. Take extra care in young children, elderly individuals, and people with thin, fragile, or previously irritated skin.

When to See a Doctor or Pharmacist: Speak with a doctor or pharmacist if the skin under or around the strip becomes increasingly red, swollen, blistered, or painful, if a rash spreads beyond the covered area, or if the wound underneath shows signs of infection such as increasing pain, warmth, discharge, or fever.
