Overview
Daktarin 2% Cream contains Miconazole Nitrate 2% w/w and is presented as a cream. It is supplied in a pack size of 15g.
It is classified as a non-prescription medicine, so no prescription is needed to order it. Under Malaysian rules for medicine information, this page carries product, safety and handling information only.
You can consult a doctor or pharmacist online on DoctorOnCall about this product before or after you order. Every order is checked by a registered pharmacist before it is delivered. Always read the label and the leaflet supplied with the pack.
Directions for Use
Wash and dry the affected area thoroughly before use. Apply a thin layer of Daktarin 2% Cream to the affected skin and the surrounding area, gently rubbing it in, usually twice a day (morning and evening) unless a pharmacist or doctor advises otherwise. Continue treatment for the recommended duration even if symptoms improve earlier, as stopping too soon can allow the infection to return. Wash hands after application unless the hands are the area being treated.
Dosage
For most fungal skin infections, a thin layer of Daktarin 2% Cream is applied to the affected area twice daily. Treatment is typically continued for 2 to 4 weeks depending on the type and severity of infection, and for at least 2 weeks after the visible symptoms have cleared to help prevent recurrence. If there is no improvement after 4 weeks of regular use, a doctor or pharmacist should be consulted to review the diagnosis.
Shelf Life
Daktarin 2% Cream typically has a shelf life of around 36 months from the date of manufacture when unopened and stored under the recommended conditions. Always check the expiry date printed on the tube and outer carton before use, and do not use the product beyond this date.
Storage Instructions
Store Daktarin 2% Cream below 30°C in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight and moisture. Keep the tube tightly capped after each use and out of the reach and sight of children and pets. Do not store in a bathroom cabinet exposed to steam or in a hot car, as heat and humidity can affect the cream’s stability.
Side Effects
Skin irritation or redness at the application site
Itching or stinging sensation
Dry or peeling skin
Headache (for oral gel)
Nausea (rare for oral use)
Contraindications
Known hypersensitivity or allergy to miconazole nitrate or any other ingredient in the cream
Known allergy to other imidazole antifungal agents
Should not be used on open wounds, deep cuts, or severely broken skin unless advised by a doctor
Not intended for use in or around the eyes
Drug / Food Interactions
Topical miconazole is minimally absorbed into the bloodstream, so significant systemic drug interactions are uncommon with normal use
Caution is advised if applied over large areas of broken or damaged skin, as increased absorption may theoretically enhance interaction with oral anticoagulants such as warfarin
Avoid applying other topical medicated creams to the same area at the same time unless advised by a pharmacist or doctor, as this may dilute effectiveness or cause irritation
Inform your pharmacist if you are using oral antifungal or blood-thinning medication before starting treatment
Quick Tips
Keep the affected area clean and dry throughout treatment, as fungi thrive in warm, moist environments
Wear loose, breathable cotton clothing and change socks or underwear daily if treating athlete’s foot or jock itch
Avoid sharing towels, socks, or footwear with others to reduce the risk of spreading the infection
Complete the full recommended course even after symptoms disappear to prevent the infection from returning
Seek medical advice if there is no improvement after 4 weeks or if the condition worsens

Relevant Information
Daktarin 2% Cream is widely used across Malaysia and Singapore as a trusted over-the-counter treatment for common fungal skin conditions. Customers with diabetes, weakened immune systems, or infections affecting the nails or scalp should seek pharmacist or doctor advice before self-treating, as these cases may require an alternative or additional treatment approach. As with any topical medicine, a small patch test can help confirm tolerance before wider application, particularly for individuals with a history of sensitive skin.

Within Malaysia, standard delivery takes 3 to 5 working days. Same-day delivery is available in the Klang Valley for orders placed before 12pm; orders placed after 12pm arrive by the end of the next day.
Orders to Singapore are sent as international deliveries and take 5 to 9 working days. A lump-sum shipping and handling fee applies to every overseas delivery and is shown at checkout.
Customers in Malaysia can pay by FPX online banking, credit or debit card (Visa and Mastercard), and supported e-wallets including Touch ‘n Go eWallet, GrabPay and ShopeePay.
FPX and local e-wallets are tied to Malaysian bank and wallet accounts, so if your delivery address is in Singapore, use the payment options displayed at checkout for that address rather than assuming the same list applies.

Singapore’s Health Sciences Authority (HSA) allows personal imports of up to three months’ supply of a medicine for your own use or an immediate family member’s, as long as it contains no controlled drugs, psychotropic substances or prohibited items. Keep the product in its original labelled packaging and keep a copy of your prescription or doctor’s letter with it. Quantities above three months’ supply, and medicines containing controlled substances, require prior HSA approval.
Products listed on DoctorOnCall are registered with Malaysia’s Ministry of Health for supply in Malaysia, and each pack carries its MAL registration number.
An order delivered to Singapore arrives as a personal import of a Malaysia-registered product; HSA product registration is not required for personal-use quantities, but it is also not the same as a product registered for sale in Singapore. If you need a locally registered Singapore product, buy it from a pharmacy in Singapore.
DoctorOnCall’s customer care team handles order, delivery and product queries through the contact channels on the site, including WhatsApp and the online help centre.
For deliveries to Singapore, allow more time before chasing an order than you would for a local Malaysian delivery, as the parcel passes through customs clearance and tracking updates can appear later in the journey.
