Overview

Dilantin 30mg Capsule is a prescription-only medicine (POM) presented as a capsule, with Phenytoin 30mg as its active ingredient content.

This page is limited to product, safety and handling information, in line with Malaysian rules on prescription medicine information for the public. Your prescriber or pharmacist is the right source for anything beyond that, together with the leaflet inside the pack.

Through DoctorOnCall, this product is supplied after an online consultation with a licensed doctor and a valid prescription, and it is checked by a registered pharmacist before dispensing. Take it exactly as prescribed, and speak to your doctor before stopping, changing the dose, or starting any other medicine alongside it.

Directions for Use

Swallow Dilantin 30mg Capsule whole with a glass of water, at the same time(s) each day, with or without food as advised by your doctor. Do not crush, chew, or open the capsule unless specifically instructed, and take it consistently to help maintain stable blood levels of this narrow therapeutic index medicine.

Dosage

The dose of Dilantin 30mg Capsule is individualised for each patient and is often guided by blood level monitoring (therapeutic drug monitoring), as phenytoin has a narrow therapeutic index – small dose changes can have a large effect on blood levels and seizure control. Your doctor will determine your starting dose, any adjustments, and the monitoring schedule required.
