Duopharma Uphamol 250mg/5ml Mixed Fruit Syrup

Duopharma Uphamol 250mg/5ml Mixed Fruit Syrup is a paracetamol-based oral syrup manufactured by Duopharma Manufacturing (Bangi) Sdn Bhd, with each 5ml containing 250mg of paracetamol in a mixed-fruit flavoured base. It is sold as an over-the-counter (OTC) product at Malaysian pharmacies, meaning it can be purchased without a doctor’s prescription, and is registered with Malaysia’s National Pharmaceutical Regulatory Agency. Duopharma is one of Malaysia’s established pharmaceutical manufacturers, and the Uphamol name covers several paracetamol-based formats beyond this syrup, including tablets in different strengths.

The syrup also contains sorbitol, propylene glycol, flavouring agents, colouring agents, and purified water as supporting ingredients alongside the paracetamol. It is supplied in a 60ml bottle and is one of several Uphamol-branded paracetamol products from Duopharma sold in different strengths and formats for both children and adults, so checking the strength and flavour on the specific pack is important before dosing. • Shake the bottle well before each use.
• Measure the dose using the measuring cup, syringe, or spoon provided with the product, not an ordinary kitchen spoon.
• Give the measured dose by mouth, with or without food.
• Re-cap the bottle tightly after each use.
• Do not exceed the maximum number of doses stated on the label within 24 hours.

Dosing is generally based on body weight, at approximately 10-15mg/kg of paracetamol per dose, given every 4 to 6 hours as needed, not exceeding 4 doses in 24 hours. Use before the expiry date printed on the bottle and outer carton. Once opened, use within the timeframe stated on the pack insert, or as advised by your pharmacist, and discard any unused syrup after the printed expiry date.

Store below 30°C in a cool, dry place, away from direct sunlight and moisture. Keep the bottle tightly closed when not in use, and keep out of reach and sight of children.

• Giving this syrup together with other paracetamol-containing medicines, including combination children’s cold and flu products, can result in exceeding the maximum safe daily dose of paracetamol.
• No clinically significant food interactions are documented; it may be given with or without food.
• Speak with a pharmacist before combining with other prescribed medicines for a child with an existing medical condition.

• Always use the measuring device provided with the syrup for an accurate dose.
• Check the ingredient list of any other cold, flu, or pain product before giving it alongside this syrup.
• Keep a record of dose times to avoid giving doses too close together.
• Shake well before each use to ensure even distribution of the active ingredient.
• Store away from heat and out of reach of children.
• Discard the bottle once the in-use period after opening has passed.
