Overview

Evin Thymol Antiseptic Mouthwash is a mouth rinse from Evin, made for use as part of a daily oral hygiene routine. As its name indicates, it features thymol, a compound derived from thyme that is commonly used in mouthwashes for its fresh, herbal taste and antiseptic character. The rinse is designed to freshen breath and help keep the mouth feeling clean between brushing. It is intended to complement, not replace, regular brushing and flossing.

Mouthwashes like this are used by rinsing a measured amount around the mouth and then spitting it out, reaching areas that a toothbrush may miss, such as between teeth and around the gums. Thymol-based rinses often have a distinctive, slightly medicinal flavour that some people find stronger than mint-only mouthwashes. The full ingredient list, including whether the product contains alcohol, should be checked on the bottle before use. Follow the measuring and rinsing instructions printed on the pack for best results.

For many people in Malaysia, a busy day of meals, coffee and teh tarik can leave the mouth feeling less fresh by the afternoon. Rinsing with a mouthwash after brushing, or after meals when brushing is not possible, is a simple way to help the mouth feel cleaner. Regular dental check-ups remain important, and anyone with ongoing gum bleeding, mouth pain or persistent bad breath should see a dentist. Keep the bottle out of reach of young children, as mouthwash should never be swallowed.

Directions for Use

  • Brush and floss your teeth as usual.
  • Pour the amount of mouthwash recommended on the pack into the measuring cap; dilute only if the pack instructs you to.
  • Rinse it around the mouth and between the teeth for the time stated on the pack.
  • Spit out the mouthwash; do not swallow.
  • Avoid eating or drinking for a short while afterwards, or as advised on the pack.

Storage Instructions

  • Store at room temperature, away from direct sunlight and heat.
  • Close the cap tightly after each use.
  • Keep in the original bottle.
  • Keep out of reach of children.

Side Effects

  • A temporary burning or tingling sensation in the mouth
  • A temporary change in taste
  • Dryness or irritation of the mouth or gums, especially with frequent use
  • Rarely, an allergic reaction such as swelling of the lips or mouth
  • If irritation persists or you notice swelling, stop use and consult a doctor, dentist or pharmacist.

  • Check the label for alcohol content if you need to avoid alcohol for health, religious or personal reasons.
  • Avoid use on open mouth sores or after oral surgery unless advised by your dentist.

Drug / Food Interactions

  • No known food interactions, though eating or drinking straight after rinsing may reduce the fresh feeling.
  • Avoid using with other mouthwashes at the same time unless advised by your dentist.
  • If you are using a prescribed mouth rinse or oral treatment, check with your dentist, doctor or pharmacist before adding this product.

Quick Tips

  • Use after brushing and flossing for a cleaner feel.
  • Always measure with the cap rather than pouring straight into the mouth.

  • See a dentist if bad breath or gum bleeding persists.
  • Keep a smaller bottle at work for use after lunch.
