With the help of a stethoscope, users or professionals can listen to the heartbeat and note down the readings accurately.

1. Wrap the cuff snugly around your upper arm.
2. Ensure the valve of the air pump is closed before inflating.
3. Inflate the cuff by squeezing the pump bulb until pressure exceeds typical systolic value (~160–180mmHg).
4. Slowly release air while listening with a stethoscope for the first (systolic) and last (diastolic) heartbeat.
5. Record the reading shown on the gauge.
