Fucidin 2% Ointment

Fucidin Ointment is a prescription-strength topical antibiotic in the class of fusidane antibiotics and contains the active ingredient Fusidic Acid. It works to help manage bacterial skin issues, but keep in mind it’s not for viral or fungal conditions. Some people may experience skin irritation, burning, dryness, or redness where the ointment is applied. Before using this ointment, make sure your hands are clean and avoid contact with your eyes—it’s for external use only. You’ll want to apply it exactly as advised by your doctor, and don’ stop early even if your skin starts looking better.

Wash and dry the affected area, then apply a small amount of Fucidin Ointment as directed by your healthcare provider, usually in a thin layer.

The typical dosage is applied 2 to 3 times daily, depending on the severity and recommendation by a physician.

Fucidin 2% Ointment has a shelf life of 3 years from the date of manufacture.

Store below 30°C in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight. Keep the tube tightly closed when not in use and out of reach of children.

Do not use Fucidin 2% Ointment if you are allergic to fusidic acid or any of the ingredients in the ointment. It should also be avoided on broken skin, open wounds, or if you’ve had bad reactions to similar products before.

Since Fucidin 2% Ointment is applied topically, drug and food interactions are considered minimal. However, always inform your doctor or pharmacist about all other medicines you are using, including creams or ointments applied to the skin.

• Do not cover the treated area with airtight dressings unless instructed by your doctor.
• Avoid getting the ointment into your eyes, mouth, or nostrils.
