Shake the bottle well before every use to ensure the suspension is evenly mixed. Measure the dose using the cap or a dosing device rather than an ordinary household spoon, to ensure accuracy. Take the dose after meals and at bedtime, following the schedule advised on the packaging.

After swallowing the dose, avoid lying down flat for at least 30 minutes where possible, as remaining upright helps the alginate raft form properly and settle over the stomach contents. Replace the cap tightly after use and keep the bottle upright during storage.

The usual adult and adolescent dose is 10ml to 20ml, taken up to four times a day, generally after meals and at bedtime, or as needed, following the guidance on the product label. The suspension should be shaken well before each use. Do not exceed four doses (a maximum of 80ml) in 24 hours unless directed by a doctor or pharmacist.

Use in children should only be under the guidance of a doctor, as the dose and suitability have not been established for this product in the paediatric population. If you find you need to use this product regularly for more than two weeks, or if you experience unintended weight loss, difficulty swallowing, vomiting blood, or black stools, stop self-treating and see a doctor promptly, as these may indicate a condition that needs further medical assessment.

Use before the expiry date printed on the bottle and carton. Once opened, follow the in-use shelf life stated on the packaging, and discard the product if this has passed or if the suspension’s appearance, colour, or smell changes.

Store below 25°C to 30°C in a dry place, away from direct sunlight. Do not refrigerate or freeze the suspension, as this may affect its consistency and how well it forms the protective raft. Keep the bottle tightly closed when not in use, and keep out of reach and sight of children.

• Common: Mild constipation or diarrhoea.
• Common: Flatulence or a bloated feeling.
• Common: Nausea.
• Common: A chalky or metallic taste in the mouth after dosing.
• Serious: Signs of an allergic reaction such as skin rash, itching, swelling of the face or throat, or difficulty breathing, which require urgent medical attention.

• Known hypersensitivity or allergy to sodium alginate, sodium bicarbonate, calcium carbonate, or any other ingredient in this product.
• Not recommended for infants or young children without specific medical advice, as the product is formulated and dosed for adults and adolescents.

• Antacid-alginate products can reduce the absorption of certain oral medicines, including some antibiotics (such as tetracyclines and quinolones), iron supplements, and other drugs whose absorption depends on stomach acidity; take other oral medicines at least 2 hours before or after this suspension.
• The raised stomach pH from the antacid component may also affect enteric-coated tablets that are designed to dissolve only once past the stomach.
• No specific food interactions are known beyond the general advice to take this suspension after meals for best effect; it does not need to be taken with or without particular foods.
