HOE Ecocort Cream

Apply a thin layer of Ecocort Cream to the affected skin and the immediately surrounding area, usually twice daily or as directed by your doctor, gently rubbing it in until absorbed; treatment is typically continued for a limited period as advised, and the corticosteroid component is usually not intended for prolonged continuous use even though the antifungal component may need a longer course to fully clear the infection.

The typical dose is a thin application to the affected area twice daily; your doctor will advise on the total duration of treatment, which often involves an initial course to settle inflammation followed by continued antifungal treatment (potentially with a plain antifungal cream) until the infection has fully cleared, to reduce the risk of relapse.

Unopened and stored correctly, HOE Ecocort Cream is generally stable until the expiry date printed on the tube or carton; do not use beyond this date.

Store below 30°C in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight, and keep out of reach of children; close the tube tightly after each use.

• Hypersensitivity to econazole nitrate, triamcinolone acetonide, or other ingredients
• Untreated bacterial or viral skin infections (e.g. herpes simplex, chickenpox, tuberculosis of the skin)
• Use on the face for prolonged periods without specific medical advice
• Rosacea or perioral dermatitis
• Application to open wounds or ulcerated skin unless directed by a doctor

• Concurrent use with other topical corticosteroids may increase risk of systemic absorption and side effects
• Occlusive dressings or use over large areas may increase systemic absorption of the corticosteroid component
• Live vaccines may be less effective if significant systemic corticosteroid absorption occurs
• No significant food interactions are known with correctly directed topical use

• Use only on the specific fungal-inflammatory skin condition diagnosed by your doctor
• Do not use for longer than prescribed, as the steroid component is intended for short-term inflammation control
• Continue the full course even if symptoms improve early, to prevent the fungal infection from returning
• Keep the affected area clean and dry between applications
• Avoid tight, occlusive clothing over the treated area where possible
• Seek medical review if there is no improvement after the expected treatment period

HOE Ecocort Cream is intended for short, doctor-directed courses to bring an inflamed fungal skin infection under control; it is not intended as a long-term maintenance treatment.

• Your doctor may switch you to a plain antifungal cream (without the steroid) to complete fungal clearance once inflammation has settled.
• Misdiagnosis of a purely fungal infection as one needing a steroid-antifungal combination, or vice versa, can lead to treatment failure — confirm with your doctor before use.
• Tell your doctor about any other topical medicines or skin conditions you have before starting treatment.
