Overview

HOE T3 Ada 0.1% Gel contains Adapalene 0.1% and is available as a gel. It is classified as a prescription medicine and may only be obtained with a valid prescription from a registered medical practitioner.

Only product, safety and handling information is published here. Anything beyond that is explained to you directly by your doctor or pharmacist as part of your consultation.

DoctorOnCall is a licensed online pharmacy. Orders for HOE T3 Ada 0.1% Gel are processed only after a doctor has assessed your suitability and issued a prescription, and every order is checked by a registered pharmacist before it is sent out.

Directions for Use

Wash and gently pat the affected skin dry before applying a thin layer of {title_en}, avoiding the eyes, lips, and mucous membranes. Wash your hands after application. Apply sunscreen and limit sun exposure during the day, as treated skin becomes more sensitive to sunlight. It is normal for mild redness, dryness, or peeling to occur in the first few weeks; this usually settles as your skin adjusts.

Dosage

HOE T3 Ada 0.1% Gel is usually applied once daily, in the evening, to the affected areas of clean, dry skin. Visible improvement typically takes several weeks, and your doctor may advise continuing use for up to 3 months or longer to see the full benefit; do not apply more often or more thickly than directed, as this will not speed up results and can increase irritation.

Side Effects

  • Skin dryness or flakiness
  • Redness or irritation
  • Mild burning or stinging sensation after application
  • Increased sensitivity to sunlight
  • Peeling of skin in the treated area

Contraindications

  • Known hypersensitivity to adapalene or any ingredient in this product
  • Application on eczema, sunburned, or broken/damaged skin
  • Pregnancy – retinoids are generally avoided during pregnancy; discuss any planned or current pregnancy with your doctor

Drug / Food Interactions

  • Other topical acne treatments or exfoliants (e.g. salicylic acid, strong scrubs, alcohol-based astringents) applied at the same time can increase irritation – space out use as advised by your doctor
  • Benzoyl peroxide can be used as part of the same acne regimen but is generally best applied at a different time of day (e.g. one in the morning, one in the evening) rather than layered together at once
  • Other retinoids (topical or oral) should be avoided while using this medicine, as combining them increases the risk of irritation without added benefit
  • Sun exposure and sunlamps/tanning beds increase the risk of sunburn on treated skin – use sunscreen and protective clothing

Quick Tips

  • Apply a pea-sized amount and spread thinly – more product does not work faster and increases irritation
  • Use a broad-spectrum sunscreen daily and avoid excessive sun exposure
  • Start with once-daily or alternate-night use if your skin is sensitive, as your doctor advises
  • Expect visible results to take several weeks – do not stop too early
  • Avoid layering with other retinoids or harsh exfoliating products
  • Moisturise if your skin feels dry or tight, using a non-comedogenic (won’t clog pores) moisturiser

Ingredients / Active Ingredients

  • Adapalene 0.1%
