Hospitech Basic Dressing Set is a pre-packed, sterile collection of basic wound-care tools bundled together in a single sealed tray, intended as a single-use kit rather than as an individual item. A typical set contains sterile forceps, gauze swabs, cotton balls, a plastic tray, a drape sheet, and a tongue depressor, arranged inside one sterile outer pouch so the components can be laid out on a clean surface without needing to be sterilised separately.

The set is sold as a general medical consumable in Malaysia rather than as a medicine, and does not require a prescription. It is compact enough to keep in a home first-aid kit, clinic trolley, or travel bag, and is supplied as a 1-piece pack containing all components together. Because every component inside is pre-sterilised, the set does not include any medication, antiseptic solution, or dressing material with an active ingredient — any wound cleanser or ointment needed is a separate product.

The set works on the principle of a ready-assembled sterile field: the plastic tray and drape sheet create a clean working surface, the forceps allow tools and dressings to be handled without direct finger contact, the cotton balls and gauze swabs provide absorbent material for cleaning or dabbing a wound area, and the tongue depressor can be used as a simple spatula or applicator. All items are held together inside one outer sterile pouch, so opening the pouch under clean conditions exposes an entire set of tools that have not been individually handled since packing.

Because the whole set is sealed as one unit, its sterility depends on the outer pouch remaining intact; once opened, the internal sterile field is only maintained for the duration of that single session, which is why the set is designed to be used in full and then discarded rather than part-used and resealed.

Wash and dry your hands thoroughly before opening the set. Check that the outer sterile pouch is intact and undamaged, and check the expiry date before opening. Peel open the pouch along the indicated edge and slide the tray out onto a clean, flat surface without touching the inner surfaces of the tray or the components directly with your fingers.

Use the forceps provided to pick up and position the gauze swabs, cotton balls, or drape sheet as needed, and use the tongue depressor as directed for its intended handling purpose. If a wound cleanser, antiseptic, or ointment is required, this must be added separately, as the set itself contains no medicated products. Once the session is complete, dispose of all used components — do not attempt to re-sterilise or reuse any part of an opened set.
