Overview

Icezon Bodycool Effervescent is a lime-flavoured effervescent powder drink built around Gypsum Fibrosum, a naturally occurring mineral (a form of calcium sulfate) long used in traditional Chinese wellness practices for its cooling properties. Each sachet is designed to be dissolved in water to create a fizzy, quenching drink, manufactured and sold in Malaysia and the wider region under the Icezon brand. It is not a pharmaceutical fever or pain medicine, and it does not contain paracetamol, ibuprofen, or any other analgesic or antipyretic drug ingredient.

Based on the manufacturer’s own product information and multiple independent Malaysian retailers, the confirmed active ingredient is Gypsum Fibrosum at 80mg per sachet, combined with flavouring and effervescent (fizzing) agents that produce the lime taste and carbonated sensation once mixed with water. It is supplied as a powder in individually sealed sachets, packed 5 sachets to a box.

Icezon Bodycool Effervescent is sold Over-the-Counter (OTC) at pharmacies and online platforms across Malaysia, and can be purchased without needing a doctor’s prescription. It sits within the traditional “cooling” category of everyday wellness products, alongside items such as herbal cooling waters, and is a distinct product category from paracetamol-based fever tablets or oral rehydration electrolyte salts. It is available in a 5-sachet box, lime flavour.

Directions for Use

Empty the contents of one sachet into approximately 150ml of plain drinking water and stir well until the powder has fully dissolved. Drink the prepared solution promptly after mixing, and take it after a meal as recommended by the manufacturer. Do not place the powder directly in the mouth without first dissolving it in water, and avoid mixing it with hot water, as this may affect the effervescent reaction.

Dosage

Adults: 1 sachet at a time, up to 3 times a day, taken after meals. Children above 6 years old: 1 sachet a day, taken after a meal. It is not intended for children under 6 years old. There is no formal “missed dose” schedule to follow since this is not a fixed-interval prescription medicine, but doses should not be doubled up to make up for a skipped serving. If symptoms such as mouth ulcers or a sore throat persist or worsen despite regular use, stop use and consult a pharmacist or doctor rather than increasing the frequency or amount beyond what is recommended on the label.

Storage Instructions

Store below 30°C, away from direct sunlight and moisture, and keep sachets in their original packaging until ready to use. Keep out of reach of children.

Side Effects

  • Common: No commonly reported side effects at the recommended dosage; some users may notice a strong mineral or lime taste.
  • Serious: Rare hypersensitivity reactions such as skin rash, itching, or swelling — discontinue use and seek medical attention if these occur.
  • Serious: Excessive or prolonged use beyond the recommended daily amount could theoretically contribute to mineral imbalance, although this has not been established for typical consumer use at the labelled dose.

Contraindications

  • Children under 6 years old.
  • Known hypersensitivity or allergy to Gypsum Fibrosum or any other listed ingredient.
  • Individuals who have been medically advised to follow a low-mineral or fluid-restricted diet, unless first checked with their doctor.

Drug / Food Interactions

  • No clinically significant drug interactions have been established for Gypsum Fibrosum at the recommended consumer dosage.
  • As a general precaution with any mineral-containing product, space it apart from other medicines by at least an hour or two if advised to do so by a pharmacist, particularly medicines that require an empty stomach or specific conditions for proper absorption.
  • No specific food interactions are documented; the manufacturer recommends taking it after meals.

Quick Tips

  • Dissolve the sachet fully in room-temperature or cool water before drinking — do not chew or swallow the undissolved powder directly.
  • Keep sachets sealed and stored in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight.
  • Prepare and drink one serving at a time; avoid pre-mixing several sachets and storing them for later.
  • Check the expiry date printed on each sachet and the outer box before use.
  • This product does not contain paracetamol or any other fever/pain-relief drug — check the packaging carefully if you specifically need a medicine of that kind.
  • Keep sachets out of reach of young children given their compact, individually wrapped size.

Relevant Information

It is not intended for children under 6 years old.
