Unroll a short length of the bandage to begin, and anchor the starting end with one or two flat turns around the limb or area to be wrapped, without pulling the bandage tight at this first turn. Continue wrapping in a spiral, with each turn overlapping the previous one by about half the bandage’s width, applying even and moderate tension throughout — the bandage should feel snug but should never cause numbness, tingling, throbbing, increasing pain, or a change in skin colour of the fingers or toes below the wrap. Secure the end of the bandage with the clips provided, a safety pin, or an adhesive tape strip, positioned away from the area where pressure or friction would be uncomfortable. If wrapping a joint such as a knee, elbow, wrist, or ankle, use a figure-of-eight pattern rather than a straight spiral so the bandage does not loosen with movement. Check the wrapped area regularly, particularly in the first hour after application, and loosen and rewrap immediately if any of the warning signs above appear.

Medicplast Elastic Crepe Bandage does not carry a medicine-style expiry in the usual sense, but the elastic yarn in any crepe bandage will gradually lose recoil with repeated use, washing, and stretching. Check the packaging for any date information, and replace the bandage once it no longer springs back after stretching or when the fabric shows fraying, thinning, or visible wear.

Store the bandage rolled up, in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight and away from sharp objects that could snag or tear the fabric. If the bandage has been washed, allow it to dry fully before re-rolling and storing it, since storing it damp can encourage mildew and weaken the elastic fibres.

• Common: Mild skin irritation, itching, or friction marks at the edges of the bandage, particularly with prolonged wear.
• Not applicable: As a plain textile bandage with no drug or antimicrobial component, it is not expected to cause the systemic or pharmacological side effects associated with a medicine.
• Serious: Numbness, tingling, increasing pain, swelling, or a change in skin colour of the area below the bandage, which can indicate the bandage has been applied too tightly and needs to be loosened immediately.

• Known allergy or sensitivity to the bandage’s textile fibres (cotton, viscose, or polyester blends).
• Not for use as a firm compression wrap over a limb with significantly impaired circulation unless specifically directed by a healthcare professional, given the risk of further restricting blood flow if applied too tightly.

• Not applicable — this is a textile bandage, not a medicine, and it has no known drug or food interactions.

• Start and finish each wrap with a flat turn rather than pulling the bandage tight from the very first pass.
• Overlap each turn by about half the bandage’s width for an even, secure wrap.
• Check fingers or toes below the wrap for colour, warmth, and sensation shortly after applying the bandage.

• Replace the bandage once it no longer springs back after stretching, or if the fabric is fraying or thinning.

Precautions: Take particular care when wrapping a limb belonging to a young child, an elderly person, or anyone with reduced sensation or circulation problems (such as keadaan kesihatan kronik tertentu-related nerve changes), as they may not notice or report early warning signs of a wrap that is too tight. Re-check tension after activity, since swelling can change how snug a bandage feels over time. If the bandage is being used as part of a compression regimen prescribed by a healthcare professional, follow their specific tension and wear-time instructions rather than general guidance alone.
