Overview

Noripharma Fucid 2% w/w Cream is a cream with Fusidic Acid 2% w/w declared as its active content. It is supplied in a pack size of 15g.

This is a non-prescription product and can be purchased without a prescription. Only product, safety and handling details are published on this page.

An online consultation with a DoctorOnCall doctor or pharmacist is available for this product, and a registered pharmacist reviews each order before dispatch to Malaysia or Singapore. Follow the directions on the label and on the leaflet inside the pack.

Directions for Use

Clean and gently dry the affected area before use, then apply a thin layer of Noripharma Fucid Cream to the infected skin, usually 3 to 4 times a day or as directed by a pharmacist or doctor. Gently rub the cream in and wash your hands after application unless the hands are the area being treated. A dressing may be used over the area if advised, and treatment is usually continued for about 7 days unless otherwise directed.

Dosage

Apply a thin film of cream to cover the affected area only, 3 to 4 times daily, for typically up to 7 days. Do not apply more often or for longer than advised, as prolonged use increases the risk of antibiotic resistance and skin irritation. If there is no improvement after a few days of treatment, stop use and consult a doctor or pharmacist rather than continuing indefinitely.

Shelf Life

Noripharma Fucid 2% w/w Cream generally has a shelf life of around 2 to 3 years from manufacture when unopened; always check the expiry date printed on the tube and carton. Once opened, it is best used within the period stated on the packaging, as the cream’s effectiveness may reduce afterwards.

Storage Instructions

Store the cream below 25°C to 30°C in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight, and keep the tube tightly capped after each use to prevent contamination. Keep out of reach and sight of children, and do not use the cream past its expiry date.

Side Effects

  • Skin irritation or redness at the application site
  • Itching or burning sensation
  • Rash or inflammation
  • Rarely, allergic reactions (e.g., swelling or difficulty breathing)

Contraindications

  • Known hypersensitivity to fusidic acid or any ingredient in the cream
  • Use on the eyes or inside the eyes (avoid contact)
  • Deep or widespread wounds without medical assessment
  • Long-term continuous use without medical review, due to risk of antibiotic resistance
  • Suspected fungal or viral skin infections, where an antibacterial cream will not help

Drug / Food Interactions

  • No clinically significant interactions with oral medicines are typically expected with normal topical use
  • Avoid applying other topical antibiotics or steroid creams to the same area at the same time unless advised by a doctor
  • Inform your pharmacist of any other skin treatments you are using on the same area
  • Avoid combining with other products that may irritate the skin at the treatment site

Quick Tips

  • Clean the affected area gently before each application
  • Use a thin layer only; more cream does not work faster
  • Complete the full course even if the skin looks better, unless advised otherwise
  • Avoid covering the area with airtight dressings unless instructed
  • Stop use and seek medical advice if the infection worsens or spreads
  • Wash hands before and after applying, unless the hands are being treated

Ingredients / Active Ingredients

  • Fusidic Acid 2% w/w
  • Cream base containing emollient and emulsifying agents
  • Preservatives to maintain product stability
  • Formulated for external topical use only

Relevant Information

Fusidic acid cream is intended for short-term treatment of confirmed or clearly suspected localised bacterial skin infections and should not be used as a general-purpose skin cream. If the infection is extensive, associated with fever, or does not improve within a few days, seek medical attention rather than continuing self-treatment, as an oral antibiotic or further evaluation may be needed.
