Norvasc 10mg Tablet contains amlodipine 10mg, a dihydropyridine calcium channel blocker used to treat high blood pressure (hypertension) and to prevent chest pain (angina), including vasospastic (Prinzmetal’s) angina.

Amlodipine blocks L-type calcium channels in vascular smooth muscle, reducing calcium entry needed for muscle contraction. This causes peripheral arteries to relax and dilate, lowering blood pressure and reducing the resistance the heart has to pump against, while also widening coronary arteries to improve oxygen supply to the heart.
Directions for Use
