The dose is generally calculated according to the child’s weight or age as indicated on the product label, given every 6 to 8 hours as needed, and it may be given with or after food or milk to reduce the chance of stomach upset. Do not exceed the maximum recommended daily dose or the frequency stated on the packaging, and always check the label before giving another fever/pain medicine to avoid accidental double dosing.

Dosing of Nurofen for Children 100mg/5ml Syrup is weight- and age-based, following the dosing chart printed on the product packaging or insert, and should always be confirmed against your child’s current weight rather than age alone where possible. This product is generally intended for infants and children within the age range stated by the manufacturer (typically from 3 months and above, subject to a minimum body weight), given up to three or four times in 24 hours with at least 6 hours between doses, not exceeding the maximum daily amount stated on the label. Parents should not give this product to a child under the minimum age/weight indicated, and should seek medical advice if a dose is missed by a wide margin or if fever/pain does not improve after 3 days of use.

Please refer to the expiry date printed on the bottle and outer carton, and do not use this product beyond that date. Once opened, use the syrup within the period stated on the packaging or pharmacist’s label, as the shelf life after opening may be shorter than the printed expiry date.

Store below 25°C in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight and moisture, and always keep the bottle tightly closed after use. Keep this medicine out of the sight and reach of children, and do not store it in the bathroom or near a sink where humidity is high.

• Common: mild stomach upset, nausea, or abdominal discomfort.
• Common: heartburn or indigestion after dosing.
• Less common: diarrhoea or constipation.
• Less common: headache or dizziness.
• Serious: signs of an allergic reaction such as skin rash, facial swelling, or difficulty breathing, which need urgent medical attention.
• Serious: black or bloody stools, or blood in vomit, which may indicate gastrointestinal bleeding and require immediate medical care.

• Known hypersensitivity to ibuprofen, aspirin, or other NSAIDs, including a history of asthma, urticaria, or allergic reaction triggered by these medicines.
• Active or history of peptic ulcer, gastrointestinal bleeding, or perforation.
• Severe heart failure, or significant kidney or liver impairment, unless advised otherwise by a doctor.
• Children below the minimum age or body weight stated on the product label.
• Third trimester of pregnancy is not relevant here as this is a pediatric product, but the child should not have chickenpox unless a doctor has advised on ibuprofen use, as some data suggests a link with rare serious skin infections in chickenpox.

• Avoid giving together with other NSAIDs or aspirin-containing products to prevent additive gastrointestinal and bleeding risk.
• Caution when used alongside corticosteroids, as combined use may increase the risk of stomach irritation or ulceration.
• May interact with certain diuretics or blood pressure medicines a child may be taking for another condition; inform the doctor of all medicines and supplements in use.
• Check all other fever or cold/flu products being given, as many contain ibuprofen or paracetamol already, to avoid unintentional double dosing.

• Always use the syringe or measuring cup provided, not a kitchen spoon, for an accurate dose.
