Pslove Neckheat

Pslove Neckheat is a topical counterirritant patch formulated with four declared active ingredients: menthol, methyl salicylate, camphor, and eucalyptus oil. It belongs to a well-established category of over-the-counter topical products sometimes referred to as rubefacient or counterirritant patches, which are applied to a localised area of intact skin.

Menthol and camphor are both recognised for producing a cooling and warming sensation respectively when applied to the skin, methyl salicylate is a salicylate ester commonly used in topical counterirritant preparations, and eucalyptus oil is included as an aromatic essential oil ingredient. Together, these four ingredients form the medicated layer of the patch, which is backed by an adhesive so that the patch can be applied directly to clean, intact skin such as on the neck.

Pslove Neckheat is supplied as a self-adhesive patch in packs of 2, designed as a single-application product rather than a reusable one. It is sold as an over-the-counter product through pharmacies and online platforms, including DoctorOnCall, and is distinguished from plain heat-only patches by its medicated formulation containing methyl salicylate, menthol, camphor, and eucalyptus oil.

Before applying Pslove Neckheat, clean and thoroughly dry the area of skin where the patch will be placed, such as the neck or another intact area of skin, and make sure the area is free of lotion, oil, or broken skin. Peel away the protective backing from the patch without touching the medicated adhesive surface directly.

Press the patch firmly onto the prepared area of skin so that it adheres securely, smoothing out the edges. Do not apply the patch to broken, irritated, or sunburnt skin, and avoid placing it near the eyes, nose, mouth, or other mucous membranes. Wash your hands thoroughly with soap and water immediately after applying or removing the patch, since transferring menthol, camphor, or methyl salicylate to the eyes or other sensitive areas can cause a burning sensation.

Do not apply a heating pad, hot water bottle, tight bandage, or occlusive dressing over the patch, and avoid activities such as hot showers, saunas, or sunbathing while the patch is in place, as added heat can increase how much of the active ingredients is absorbed through the skin and raise the risk of skin irritation or burns. Remove the patch after the period of time stated on the packaging or as directed by a pharmacist.

Apply one Pslove Neckheat patch at a time to a single affected area. Do not apply more than the number of patches per day stated on the product packaging, and do not apply a new patch to the same area of skin until any redness or irritation from the previous patch has fully settled.

Because this product contains methyl salicylate, a salicylate-based ingredient, it should be used with caution and only for short periods at a time. If you need to use it for more than a few days, or if you are using other salicylate-containing products (including oral aspirin) at the same time, check with a pharmacist or doctor about the total salicylate exposure this may involve.

Use Pslove Neckheat before the expiry date printed on the packaging. Do not use a patch beyond this date, even if the sachet appears undamaged, as the medicated adhesive layer and active ingredients can degrade over time.

Store Pslove Neckheat in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight and heat sources, and keep each patch sealed in its individual sachet until ready to use. Keep the product out of the reach and sight of children and pets, as accidental ingestion or contact with the eyes can cause irritation or more serious effects due to the active ingredients.

• Do not use on broken, wounded, infected, or recently shaved or sunburnt skin.
• Do not use in individuals with a known allergy or hypersensitivity to salicylates (including aspirin), menthol, camphor, eucalyptus oil, or any other component of the patch.
• Not intended for use in children, as topical salicylate-containing products are generally not recommended for children due to the risk of salicylate absorption; keep this product away from children entirely.
• Do not apply near the eyes, nose, mouth, or other mucous membranes, or on the genital area.
• Pregnant and breastfeeding women should check with a doctor or pharmacist before using this product, given its salicylate content.
• Do not use together with a heating pad, hot water bottle, or other external heat source over the patch.

• Methyl salicylate applied to the skin can be absorbed into the bloodstream, particularly if used over a large area, for a long time, or together with heat, and may add to the effect of other salicylate-containing medicines, including oral aspirin.
• People taking blood-thinning medicines such as warfarin should check with a doctor or pharmacist before using topical methyl salicylate-containing products, as there have been reports of an increased bleeding tendency when the two are combined.
• Avoid using this patch at the same time as other topical counterirritant, heat-rub, or menthol/camphor-containing products on the same area of skin, as this can increase the risk of skin irritation.
