Overview

Sunward Decondine Syrup is a combination syrup containing pseudoephedrine, a decongestant, together with triprolidine, an antihistamine. It is used to relieve nasal and sinus congestion, sneezing, and a runny nose caused by the common cold or allergic conditions.

Pseudoephedrine narrows swollen blood vessels in the nasal passages to relieve congestion, while triprolidine blocks histamine, the substance responsible for sneezing, itching, and a runny nose in allergic and cold-related reactions. Together they relieve multiple cold and allergy symptoms.

How it Works

Pseudoephedrine is a sympathomimetic that constricts dilated blood vessels in the nasal mucosa via alpha-adrenergic receptors, reducing swelling and congestion. Triprolidine is a first-generation antihistamine that blocks H1 histamine receptors, reducing sneezing, itching, and nasal/eye discharge caused by histamine release.

Directions for Use

Shake Sunward Decondine Syrup well before use and measure each dose accurately with the measuring cup or oral syringe provided, not a household spoon. Avoid taking it close to bedtime if it makes you feel alert, and avoid combining it with other decongestant or antihistamine-containing products.

Dosage

The dose of Sunward Decondine Syrup depends on age and body weight. Always follow the dose and frequency printed on the product label or advised by your doctor or pharmacist, and do not exceed the recommended dose, as this medicine is intended for short-term relief of cold/allergy symptoms.
