Overview
Supirocin 2% Ointment contains Mupirocin 2% and is presented as an ointment. It is supplied in a pack size of 15g.
It is classified as a non-prescription medicine, so no prescription is needed to order it. Under Malaysian rules for medicine information, this page carries product, safety and handling information only.
You can consult a doctor or pharmacist online on DoctorOnCall about this product before or after you order. Every order is checked by a registered pharmacist before it is delivered. Always read the label and the leaflet supplied with the pack.
Directions for Use
Clean and dry the affected area before use, then apply a small amount of Supirocin 2% Ointment to the affected skin, usually covering it lightly with a gauze dressing if advised by your doctor. Wash your hands before and after application unless the hands themselves are being treated, and use the ointment for the full course prescribed, even if the skin appears to have healed.
Dosage
The usual dose is a thin layer applied to the affected area 2 to 3 times daily for 5 to 10 days, or as directed by your doctor, depending on the severity and location of the infection. Do not use for longer than prescribed, and see your doctor if there is no improvement within 3 to 5 days of starting treatment.
Shelf Life
Supirocin 2% Ointment should be used within the shelf life printed on the packaging when stored correctly and unopened; check the expiry date before use and discard any unused ointment after the course of treatment or once expired.
Storage Instructions
Store below 25°C in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight, and keep the tube tightly closed when not in use. Keep out of reach and sight of children.
Side Effects
Skin irritation or redness at the application site
Itching or burning sensation
Dryness or peeling of treated skin
Rash (less common)
Swelling or stinging (rare)
Contraindications
Known hypersensitivity to mupirocin or polyethylene glycol (a component of the ointment base)
Not for use in the eyes, nose, or on mucous membranes unless specifically directed by a doctor
Caution with extensive use on open wounds or in patients with significant kidney impairment, due to the polyethylene glycol base
Not intended for viral or fungal skin infections
Drug / Food Interactions
Minimal systemic drug interactions are expected because absorption through intact or minor broken skin is limited
Avoid applying other topical creams or ointments to the same area at the same time without medical advice
Inform your doctor if you are using other topical treatments for the same skin area
Quick Tips
Complete the full course of treatment even if the skin looks better after a few days
Keep the affected area clean and covered if advised, to prevent spreading the infection
Avoid sharing towels, clothing, or bedding while the infection is active, especially with impetigo
Do not use Supirocin for longer than prescribed to help reduce the risk of antibiotic resistance
See a doctor if the infection spreads, worsens, or does not improve within a few days

Relevant Information
Supirocin 2% Ointment is intended for short courses of treatment for confirmed or clinically likely bacterial skin infections, and is not meant for long-term or repeated use without medical supervision, as overuse can contribute to antibiotic resistance. Good hygiene practices — such as keeping the area clean, avoiding scratching, and not sharing personal items — help prevent the infection from spreading to other parts of the body or to other people.

Within Malaysia, standard delivery takes 3 to 5 working days. Same-day delivery is available in the Klang Valley for orders placed before 12pm; orders placed after 12pm arrive by the end of the next day.
Orders to Singapore are sent as international deliveries and take 5 to 9 working days. A lump-sum shipping and handling fee applies to every overseas delivery and is shown at checkout.
Customers in Malaysia can pay by FPX online banking, credit or debit card (Visa and Mastercard), and supported e-wallets including Touch ‘n Go eWallet, GrabPay and ShopeePay.
FPX and local e-wallets are tied to Malaysian bank and wallet accounts, so if your delivery address is in Singapore, use the payment options displayed at checkout for that address rather than assuming the same list applies.
Yes. DoctorOnCall ships to Singapore as an international order dispatched from Malaysia, arriving in 5 to 9 working days with a lump-sum shipping and handling fee.
Singapore’s Health Sciences Authority (HSA) allows personal imports of up to three months’ supply of a medicine for your own use or an immediate family member’s, as long as it contains no controlled drugs, psychotropic substances or prohibited items. Keep the product in its original labelled packaging and keep a copy of your prescription or doctor’s letter with it. Quantities above three months’ supply, and medicines containing controlled substances, require prior HSA approval.
Products listed on DoctorOnCall are registered with Malaysia’s Ministry of Health for supply in Malaysia, and each pack carries its MAL registration number.
An order delivered to Singapore arrives as a personal import of a Malaysia-registered product; HSA product registration is not required for personal-use quantities, but it is also not the same as a product registered for sale in Singapore. If you need a locally registered Singapore product, buy it from a pharmacy in Singapore.
DoctorOnCall’s customer care team handles order, delivery and product queries through the contact channels on the site, including WhatsApp and the online help centre.
For deliveries to Singapore, allow more time before chasing an order than you would for a local Malaysian delivery, as the parcel passes through customs clearance and tracking updates can appear later in the journey.
