Overview

Tenvir Tablet contains tenofovir disoproxil fumarate 300mg, a nucleotide reverse transcriptase inhibitor (NRTI) antiretroviral medicine. It is used, in combination with other antiretroviral medicines, to treat HIV-1 infection, and is also used to treat chronic hepatitis B infection.

Tenofovir is converted inside cells into its active form, which blocks the reverse transcriptase enzyme that HIV and hepatitis B virus need to copy their genetic material, stopping the virus from replicating.

How it Works

Directions for Use

Take Tenvir Tablet at the same time each day, with or without food. Do not stop or skip doses, and never stop this medicine without speaking to your doctor first, as inconsistent use can lead to the virus becoming resistant to treatment.

Dose adjustment or closer monitoring may be needed in people with reduced kidney function – your doctor will individualise your treatment based on your kidney function and overall health.
