Xepa Zaricort Cream

Xepa Zaricort Cream is a combination topical cream containing hydrocortisone (a mild corticosteroid) and miconazole nitrate (an antifungal agent). It is formulated for the treatment of fungal skin infections that are accompanied by inflammation, redness, and itching, such as ringworm, athlete’s foot, or fungal skin rashes with an inflamed component. By combining an antifungal with a mild steroid, Zaricort addresses both the underlying fungal cause and the uncomfortable inflammatory symptoms in a single product.

Xepa Zaricort Cream is available as a non-prescription product through DoctorOnCall in Malaysia. Although it does not require a doctor’s prescription, it should be used according to the product instructions or a pharmacist’s advice, and treatment should not be continued for longer than necessary once symptoms have settled, particularly because of the hydrocortisone component.

Miconazole works by disrupting the cell membrane of fungal organisms, stopping their growth and helping to clear the fungal infection. Hydrocortisone, a mild corticosteroid, reduces the inflammatory response in the skin, helping to calm the redness, swelling, and itching that often accompany a fungal infection. Together, these two ingredients help control the infection while providing symptomatic relief from the associated skin irritation.

Xepa Zaricort Cream remains stable until the expiry date printed on the packaging when stored correctly and unopened. Do not use the product past its expiry date, and discard it if there are visible changes in colour, texture, or smell.

Store below 30°C in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight. Keep the tube tightly closed when not in use and store out of reach of children.

• Known hypersensitivity or allergy to hydrocortisone, miconazole, or any other ingredient in the cream
• Untreated viral skin infections (e.g. chickenpox, cold sores) or untreated bacterial skin infections at the site
• Broken skin or open wounds, unless directed by a doctor
• Use on large areas of skin or for prolonged periods without medical supervision
• Not recommended for use on the face unless specifically directed by a doctor

• No significant food interactions are known for topical hydrocortisone/miconazole cream
• Avoid using other topical steroid or antifungal products on the same area at the same time unless advised by a doctor or pharmacist
• Miconazole applied to large areas of broken skin may, in rare cases, interact with oral anticoagulants (e.g. warfarin); inform your doctor if you are taking blood-thinning medicine
• Inform your pharmacist of any other topical treatments being used on the same site

• Complete the full course of treatment as advised, even if the skin appears to improve early
• Use only on the affected area and avoid contact with the eyes
• Avoid occlusive dressings over the treated area unless instructed by a doctor

Xepa Zaricort Cream combines an antifungal and a mild corticosteroid and is intended for short-to-medium term treatment of inflamed fungal skin infections. It is not intended for long-term or continuous use, and the steroid component in particular should not be used beyond the recommended duration.
