HOE Beprogent Cream should only be used according to the areas, amount, and duration prescribed by your doctor following an online consultation with DoctorOnCall. A thin layer of cream is usually applied to the affected skin and gently rubbed in two to three times daily, unless otherwise directed. Hands should be washed before and after application unless the hands themselves are being treated, and the cream should not be applied under occlusive dressings unless specifically instructed by your doctor, as this increases absorption and the risk of side effects.

The amount and frequency of application of HOE Beprogent Cream is determined individually by your prescribing doctor based on the type, severity, and location of the skin condition being treated, and typically involves applying a thin film to the affected area two to three times a day. Treatment is usually limited to a short course, generally not exceeding two to three weeks, to reduce the risk of side effects and bacterial resistance to gentamicin. Always follow the exact instructions given on your prescription rather than any general guidance, and do not use more often or for longer than directed.

HOE Beprogent Cream is generally stable for up to 36 months from the date of manufacture when stored correctly and unopened. Always check the expiry date printed on the tube or carton before use, and do not use the cream if the date has passed.

Store HOE Beprogent Cream at room temperature, below 30 degrees Celsius, away from direct sunlight, heat, and moisture. Keep the tube tightly closed when not in use, and keep out of reach of children and pets.

• Known hypersensitivity to betamethasone dipropionate, gentamicin, other aminoglycoside antibiotics, or any ingredient in the cream
• Viral skin infections such as herpes simplex, chickenpox, or shingles
• Untreated fungal or tuberculous skin infections
• Not for use on large areas of broken skin, open wounds, or burns without specific medical advice, due to the risk of systemic gentamicin absorption
• Not for use on the face, groin, or underarms for prolonged periods without specific medical advice
• Not recommended for use in infants without specialist guidance

• Avoid applying other topical corticosteroid or antibiotic products to the same area at the same time unless advised by your doctor
• Occlusive dressings or tight clothing over the treated area can significantly increase drug absorption and side effects
• Caution is advised if used together with other medicines that can affect the kidneys or hearing, as significant systemic absorption of gentamicin, though uncommon with topical use, could theoretically add to these effects
• Inform your doctor of all other topical or oral medicines you are using on or near the treated skin

• Apply only a thin layer of HOE Beprogent Cream to the affected skin, not the surrounding healthy skin
• Do not use for longer than the duration prescribed by your doctor, even if the skin appears to have improved
• Avoid covering the treated area with airtight dressings unless instructed
• Wash your hands after applying, unless the hands are the area being treated
• Tell your doctor promptly if the skin condition worsens, spreads, or does not improve

HOE Beprogent Cream is intended for short-term use on well-defined areas of infected or infection-prone, steroid-responsive skin conditions and is not meant for long-term continuous use due to the potency of betamethasone dipropionate and the risk of bacterial resistance developing with extended antibiotic exposure. Its cream base makes it particularly suited to moist, weeping, or exudative lesions where an ointment may feel too occlusive. Patients should follow their doctor’s instructions on treatment duration closely and complete the prescribed course rather than stopping as soon as symptoms improve, as premature discontinuation can allow infection to recur.
