Overview

Dexa-Gentamicin Eye Drop contains Dexamethasone and Gentamicin and is available as eye drops. It is classified as a prescription medicine and may only be obtained with a valid prescription from a registered medical practitioner.

Only product, safety and handling information is published here. Anything beyond that is explained to you directly by your doctor or pharmacist as part of your consultation.

DoctorOnCall is a licensed online pharmacy. Orders for Dexa-Gentamicin Eye Drop are processed only after a doctor has assessed your suitability and issued a prescription, and every order is checked by a registered pharmacist before it is sent out.

Directions for Use

Wash your hands before use, tilt your head back, gently pull down the lower eyelid to form a small pocket, and instil the drop of Dexa-Gentamicin Eye Drop without letting the dropper tip touch the eye or eyelashes. Close your eye gently for 1-2 minutes and apply light pressure at the inner corner of the eye to reduce drainage into the nose and throat. Wait at least 5 minutes before using any other eye drop.

Dosage

The usual dose of Dexa-Gentamicin Eye Drop is 1-2 drops into the affected eye(s) every 4-6 hours, or more frequently during the first days of a severe infection as directed by your doctor. Do not use this product for longer than prescribed, as prolonged steroid use in the eye carries specific risks.
