How To Use Glyprin 100mg Tablet

This medicine is for oral use only. Swallow this medication as a whole with water. Do not chew, crush or break it. It is better to take this medication at a fixed time each day if it is indicated for everyday use.
Precautionary Steps of Glyprin 100mg Tablet

Before taking Glyprin, please get a doctor’s advice especially if you have any of the following disease. 

  • Allergic to Glyprin or any of its ingredients
  • Liver diseases
  • Bleeding disorders
  • Kidney diseases
  • Stomach ulcers

Please stop taking the Glyprin if you experience any symptom.

Reaction towards Glyprin:
  • Dipyridamole
  • Steroid
  • Blood thinners
  • Sulfonylurea
  • Seizure medications
  • Diabetic agents
  • Alcohol
  • Allopurinol

Reaction differs according to an individual. You are advised to ask a doctor regarding any reactions that may occur with other medications or substances before taking Glyprin.

These are a few reactions between medication and diseases that is incomplete that might cause disturbance to Glyprin.

Before consuming the medication, please inform your doctor regarding other medicines that you are taking. Please also remember the following precautions:
  • Avoid exposure to excess sunlight
  • Avoid using this medication continuously
  • Alcohol might affect the liver if taken along with this medication

Inform your doctor regarding other diseases that you might experience or regarding other medications that you are consuming. Do not stop taking the medication that the doctor prescribes. 

Alcohol Warning( Not Advisable )
It is unsafe to consume Glyprin 100mg Tablet and alcohol as Glyprin 100mg Tablet inhibits platelet aggregation and alcohol may aggravate this effect of Glyprin 100mg Tablet and causes gastrointestinal bleeding.

Pregnancy Warning (Not Safe)
There's proven data of human fetal risk on the intake of Glyprin 100mg Tablet during pregnancy. Glyprin 100mg Tablet can be taken when needed in the first two trimesters but it is not advisable in the third trimester. It may cause hemostasis impairment both in maternal and fetus and it may also cause teratogenic effect, intrauterine growth retardation (IUGR) and perinatal mortality if taken in high doses.

Breastfeeding Warning ( Not Advisable )
Glyprin 100mg Tablet can be excreted in breast milk. There were significant effects reported in nursing infants such as metabolic acidosis, rashes, platelet abnormalities, and bleeding. Therefore, it is advisable to take Glyprin 100mg Tablet with caution for nursing mothers

Driving Warning ( Generally Safe )
Glyprin 100mg Tablet usually does not affect the ability to drive. Do not drive unless you are feeling well.

Kidney Warning ( Use With Care )
Prolonged intake of a high dose of Glyprin 100mg Tablet may cause chronic renal failure known as chronic interstitial nephritis and It is contraindicated in severe renal failure.

Liver Warning ( Use With Care )
Prolonged use of moderate to high doses of Glyprin 100mg Tablet may cause liver injury. However, It is asymptomatic despite abnormal liver function tests. Therefore, It is safer to use in low doses.
As with all medications, you may experience some side effects. Not everyone experiences it. This is not a cause for concern. However, it is so that you are aware of it.

Besides these functions and uses of Glyprin, there are certain side effects that are related to this medication. Please refer to the list below:
  1. Nausea
  2. Vomiting
  3. Abdominal pain
  4. Reduced nutrient absorption
  5. Gastritis
  6. Stomach ulcer
  7. Anemia 

Although some of these symptoms usually happen, there are a few symptoms that rarely happen. If you experience any of these symptoms (either mentioned or not), please talk a doctor immediately. You also have to refer to a doctor if you experience blurring of vision or skin rashes. The above list may be incomplete and please also mention if you experience other symptoms than mentioned above. These symptoms might be revealed when one uses the medication for a long period of time.

Tinnitus, Thrombocytopenia, Dyspepsia, Gastric irritation, Asthma, Rash, Urticaria, Anemia, Nausea, Confusion

1. I forgot to take Glyprin on a specific day. What should I do?
If you forgot to take one dose of your medication, please take it as soon as you realize it. But if the time to take the next dose is near then just ignore the dose that you forgot. In such situation, avoid taking the dose twice from what is advised.

2. I used over the Glyprin medication from the recommended quantities. What steps should I take?
If you think you took Glyprin more than the quantity advised, please refer to your doctor immediately. Consumption of the medication more from the dosage given might bring unwanted side effects.

3. Is it safe to take Glyprin  during pregnancy?
There are no information regarding the usage of Glyprin during pregnancy. You will have to refer to a gynaecologist for further information before taking the medication. The pregnant lady should evaluate the pros and cons of the medication with a doctor before consuming it.

4. Is it safe to use Glyprin medication when breastfeeding?

5. I took  Glyprin  which has been expired. What should I do?
Taking one dose of Glyprin that has expired might not bring any side effects but just to be careful, you should discuss it with your doctor as a precautionary step.

6. Is Glyprin  medication safe for use?
Glyprin is safe to be used if the dosage taken is as prescribed by the doctor.
