Overview

Beatafed Tablet combines pseudoephedrine, a decongestant, with triprolidine, a first-generation antihistamine, to relieve nasal congestion together with sneezing, runny nose, and itching caused by allergic rhinitis or the common cold. The combination targets both the blocked-nose and the allergy/cold symptoms at the same time.

Pseudoephedrine narrows swollen blood vessels in the nasal lining to relieve congestion, while triprolidine blocks histamine, the chemical responsible for sneezing, itching, and a runny nose during allergic or cold-related reactions.

How it Works

Pseudoephedrine is a sympathomimetic that stimulates alpha-adrenergic receptors in the nasal blood vessels, causing them to constrict and reducing the swelling that blocks the nose. Triprolidine is a sedating antihistamine that blocks H1 histamine receptors, reducing sneezing, itching, and mucus production triggered by histamine release.

Directions for Use

Take Beatafed Tablet with a glass of water, with or without food. Because triprolidine can cause drowsiness, avoid driving or operating machinery until you know how this medicine affects you, and avoid taking your dose too close to needing to stay alert.

Dosage

The usual adult dose of Beatafed Tablet is one tablet taken several times a day as directed on the label or by your doctor, not exceeding the maximum daily number of tablets stated. Do not use for more than a few days for nasal congestion without medical advice, as decongestants can lose effectiveness or cause rebound congestion with prolonged use.

Shelf Life

Use this product before the expiry date stated on the packaging. Do not use the medicine if the expiry date has passed.
